It seems a shame that this idea is not taking off, I had a very similar idea myself around a year ago although you really need quite a few like minded people to put in the time and energy to get this done, one person is not enough. It is definitely possible in NPC null space unlike some of the others on this forum mentioned, I've run missions and lived in Delve with Goonswarm and TEST plus Russian entities who were running all over the place, and although challenging it is possible and one can earn very good isk. One issue though is that Stain is not the most easy of places for new players or even intermediate players to get too so that could be a problem. Although I would say that you gave up on your idea too easily from reading this thread, it should be expected that this kind of concept would take time, perseverance, plus many a set back to achieve.

Hey Medalyn,

Nice to chat with you.

Yes you are correct this does need lots of like minded people in order to achieve this and I still strongly believe it can be done.

Make no mistake, I have not given up, In fact my desire to do this is stronger than ever. (did you read the thread as thorough as you could have?)

My plans for the future are to immerse myself in recruitment and get talking with folks to build a corp and make some friends. I've done lots of analysing of the responses posted here and I've come to the conclusion that if I had a large corp of guys following my policies and preparing for this venture we would be able to get more people to commit.

So I will state again that I have not quit, but decided to regroup and rethink the way I go about this.

I'm pretty sure I would get lots of corps and solo guys coming here if I was already in command of a 50/100 man corp.

In my opinion its very easy to get here, and with the interceptor changes its a breeze, you just need patience.

Why would anyone fly out to 0.0 (and of all the places in 0.0, Stain) to mine veldspar?

That's like trekking to the Antarctic so that you can work the same unskilled minimum wage job that you used to do back in the city.

This is the issue, we are not thinking big.

I would have thought a group of us would mine veldspar and other ores in order to build something like cap ships down here in Stain, mining ore to take back to hi sec would be difficult.

Setting up production out here would be a wise move because Stain has untouched ores floating around in belts and in my opinion we could make capital ships faster and more cheaper than anywhere else due to the fact that we don't pay anything for sov and we have an unlimited supply of ores due to no one mining them.

Have you not watched Ice Road Truckers on TV? It is about huge mining companies setting up near the north and south poles in order to profit from the vast amounts of resource there. Its all about thinking big and developing policies and techniques in order to keep people safe and making money. Being an Ice Road Trucker is actually good pay.

I hope this answers your query.

We had a great day today and found a hauler spawn (375m in value) that we were able to haul back to base and share out. Did you know that you can't take wrecks or cans off the grid they originated on? It was a good vibe on comms today a real sense of teamwork, Dracvlad was involved and we spoke to another guy who is very passionate about setting up in Stain. Numbers are growing and we now have a small base of people.

The convo with the prospective Hub Member was good, we both agreed that its not really about there being a single leader but a team of leaders, His ideas were surprisingly similar to mine and I feel a strong sense that this is moving forward beyond my control. Maybe we can look at this Hub Zero lark in simple terms, were just a group of guys who have blued one another and prepared to help each other out while trying to earn isk.

This really is crunch time for Hub Zero our very own Dracvlad could be leaving. I'll let you in on something, I was secretly told by Drac that he may decide to stay if more people came down and I think he liked the fact there were so many blues in local. So this is a massive appeal to everyone tuned in, please please, come down and help out.

If Dracvlad does leave at the end of this month it will seriously hurt us because he's one of the best players I've known and he's got great banter. So, help me keep Drac in the game and I am in your debt.

If you're trying to build capships (or for that matter, anything at all), you'll have to compete with the standard (zero risk, low effort) method of jump freightering compressed minerals direct from the Jita undock to a lowsec factory station in The Forge or Lonetrek.

It would be nice if CCP actually made Eve into a game where what you describe was a viable option but they've shown no sign of fixing the industrial side of the game in the last few years and I see no sign that they'll do so in the future.

And your posts define you as one of the toxic Eve players. Gevlon Goblin has some ideas and he has the courage to put them out there, all you do is throw sniping sarky posts, and while I think Gevlon Goblin misses the mark quite often I find his posts courageous, you however have no courage and nothing really to say apart from smug R U mad type comments, like the one your uttered here, begone troll...

Aaron, I have decided to continue, I will take a break for 15 days in mid-March, but I will stay, at least until SC is up and running, but I will maintain my accounts regardless, you never know CCP might sort out sov space and other issues, doubt it, but you never know..

Seriously we could use your skill down here, and if you did come you will find there's lots of other people with skills that can help you.

I'm very excited about this as you can probably tell.

In my years in Stain I have built 2 Rorquals. This was the era when you used to get cap boosters in belt loot which I fully exploited. I refined all the cap boosters I got and was able to build the Rorqs because the refine yield was so high. I normally refine all the items that are worth under 250k isk and all the items that weigh more than 10m3. These days I get about 2m in trit and 1m pyer, and a good handful of all other minerals and about 30m worth of stuff to sell to the jita boys from a loot refine that took me 1 hour to rat and loot, hauler spawns also contributed to the Rorq builds.

I strongly believe that mining using frigs/cruisers, belt loot refines, and hauler spawns can build you cap ships. The only issue is keeping the operation safe. I for one would love to be part of a security force protecting mining operations here, based on my experience within eve I feel that we would have to employ even more deadly tactics than the people attacking us.

As you can see there's lots to do down here and it's nice to see people starting to get involved. Always remember it is us the players that can change the game, never underestimate the power of the little guy.

We don't enjoy NRDS. Actually we think Eve needs a safe haven that does not practice NRDS. There has been some talk of a new policy called BSWF (Be Safe While Flying) which involves being very cautious and gathering as much intel as possible before anything is done.

Make no mistake here, I can't stress enough that this is not NRDS. Yes, we might be a group of people that don't shoot first, but if you are not blue to us then we will get safe when you come into our systems we will then collect intel on you and study what you do around us. If we get the slightest feeling that you want to kill us then we will fleet up and kill you.

Goddammit that's just NBSI with a weird tentative vagueness to it because you need to feel like the good guy.
A need that makes you vulnerable to whoever shoots first.
Also you will shoot people who didn't mean you any harm.
So bite the bullet. NBSI, quit the pussyfooting.

We are the good guys, however if we think that someone is a threat we will kill them and will shoot first, generally I set tests for people to see if they are stupid aggressive, the last one I tested ended up with a Domi kill to me.

Sometimes we may shoot people who are not a threat, its does happen, I did it not so long ago, but then he joined -DD- so I did not feel bad about it.

If a neutral comes in does sites, no issue for me, I really do not feel the need to blast them for it

Hey Brundle,

This venture is really good for people who don't have much time, what we're looking for is lots of cool people giving us a little bit of their time when they can. NPC isn't as time consuming as sov space.

Please do try and come down when you can find some time, the guys and I would really appreciate it.

No more time and effort than anything else that you can do in Eve, let Dracvlad and I do the worrying. Big smile

I think it's about us agreeing on a goal and keeping in communication with the community. I would say whatever it is that you do in eve come down here and do it because it will contribute to the Hub. Lets say you came here for sansha missions, if you looted and salvaged them I would buy the all trit bars from you at top prices which creates a constant stream of isk for you. As long as we both keep doing this we will both be better off and we will both grow. The key is to create hundreds of these small long term transactions among hundreds of people. This doesn't take much effort it's pretty much what most people do in the eve universe.

Everything takes time my friend and I think you should come down even for a day and feel the thrill of being involved in building something that could be epic.
