Hmm... Up in lowsec I haven't had any 1000 man cap fleet problems yet. Is it broken?

Supercaps online has been a ****** game since 2010. One of Eve's defining qualities is its ship and module variety allowing paper/rock/scissors on a vast scale. Supers have unbalanced that aspect of the game for years now; the only thing that has changed is those whom now wield that unbalanced stick.

We told you so, now reap what you've sown.

Supercarriers, dreads and carriers are well balanced as it is. They all have good counters and good strengths. Titans are too weak in normal play and too strong in extreme TIDI (and are heavily underused).

In extreme TIDI every module takes 10 minutes to cycle. Your reps cycle once and so does a doomsday. This means in a TIDI fight the team with the most titans wins every time. What N3/PL hate is the idea that numbers win every fight. That's how the game is right now. THIS is what's broken.

A counter to numbers is remote reps with well tanked ships. That counter breaks in extreme TIDI because of titans, so as long as goons are willing to use their titans, numbers will always win.

How do we fix this? Not easily. Game mechanics need to discourage TIDI fights by splitting sov objectives up. Capital ships need more options to disengage and escape from fights after they have taken significant losses (like a subcap fleets can do). The doomsday could be given a faster cycle time with reduced damage to minimize the TIDI advantage. Titan hulls could also be reduced in size by 75% and given a damage boost to make them more useful in normal play (e.g. they could actually come on a structure grind OP).

Short of major mechanics changes the subcap world will always be dominated by numbers, and that makes me a bit sad.

Well he isn't wrong, it wasn't our subcaps that snapped your back.

Yeah, that's because GSF isn't very good at EVE.

Never done sov warfare and, like the OP says, I've never enjoyed one of the most important fun source of the game. I hope one day to experience game's most important fun source so I can start having fun. One day.

Both of you should fight to settle this and sell admission for the twitch stream.

Why change all that when you can change the map and solve the main problem, coalitions. If areas of space are reverted back into separate and distinct areas then wars will be smaller more localized affairs, there won't be 4k person fights and 1000 caps on field which CCP wouldn't like but I think CPP needs to look after the players, not use them for broken tidi superbattles to get subs.

Some of the best and brightest minds have told me that supercapitals are fine and all yall need to HTFU. Supers are easily countered by more supers. You guys want to win by cramming as many nerds with a pulse and a warm body into a system and that just isnt gonna fly in todays EVE.
