Why can't we customize the outsides of our ships?

Custom ship skins, character creator style "repaint". Bring it!

A good compromise would be each ship having a couple of preconfigured skins rather than just one. Its not true custmising but at least provides the illusion of choice without breaking the game :D

However the OP should have more sense than to post in GD as the whole point in GD is attention seeking by trolling everything, even a brilliant idea that will revolutionalise the game would get trolled in here.
