hi all,

First off a shout out CCP for all the great work in the last year.

now on topic, i would like to suggest automated script reloading in active modules.

current situation
take for example the tracking computer. right now if you want to reload it from anything to something else
(for example optimal range to tracking speed)
you first have to offline the module, wait for the cycle to end.
wait for the latency to catch up,(the red flashing for a sec) reload, (again wait for minor latency), activate it and then it's running with the new script

the core problem
if you ask me the fundamental problem lays with the latency issues of all active modules. when reloading or using active modules at all in general the game feels not smooth and can even be anoying from time to time. now i have very fast computer and i have probably one of the fastests internet connections possbile so i can say it's not my hardware. now i can understand this is a bit tricky to tackle for CCP, so i was thinking about a work around feature for the time beeing that makes reloading in general allot less anoying even when there werent minor latency issues

possible improved situation
now what if we make automated reloading a feature. i am getting my inspiration for this from the over-heat mechanics.
my idea is to, just right click the active module (when the module is active!) and press the script you wanna reload.
the script or the module starts to flash, to indicate change is coming with the next cycle, then if the next cycle hits,
it automaticly reloads with the script and you don't have to offline-reload-activate (with all the anoying effects of the latencies)

just as the over-heat indicater flashes before the next cycle starts the over-heat process if you turned it on.

it first eliminates the latency issues and on top of that if gives the user a much smoother and easier way to reload scripts.

extending the feature
i can even see this feature working on turrets, auto reloading new ammo on the next cycle.

let me know what you all think, and give some good feedback about this, i am quite serious about it and want others imput. and if you like it, please make a comment aswell and like the post.

with regards,
