I propose a Navigation skill that effects how close to a gate you land when on auto pilot. Maybe not 0km but 5 or 10 km by level 5 would be nice. This idea has probably come up a lot but I couldn't find exactly this one anywhere.

So endgame haulers will always auto-warp to 0? Is it a problem?

I would take anything ccp will give me. i am just tired of the warp to 15km thing so maybe a skill then so i have to go out of my way to get it.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the reason behind why the AP warp to gate distance is not zero is to try and combat bots. Anything that can delay or potentially disrupt the programming of a bot and make ti not work right or take longer to do its deed is fine by me.

I hate the AP distance too but, it may be a necessary evil.

Reason for WTZ: Back then you could only warp to 15km to a gate. So everybody made bookmarks 15km behind the gate (coming from a particular gate) in order to land on 0 on the gate - which resulted in a gazillion bookmarks every player had, especially in 0.0. This made the hamsters cry and CCP introduced WTZ.

And no: Autopilot should not warp to 0. The universe is too small as is. If you want to travel faster, "play the game" - as in "do that tideous work that is needed to travel faster".

you mean click the gate in the overview and hit W?

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Yes, that's it. Someone sitting at the keyboard should be able to travel faster than someone beeing afk on autopilot. Simple as that.

This is laughable; Anyone who can make a bot in eve should be capable to make something that can WTZ and jump.
I haven't tried them myself as I'm not fond of cheating but there already exist such bots (search "autopilot bot eve" in google).

On the other hand, if a game has bots it just means that there is trivial repetitive content that you must do - that should be the cause for removal, not the other way around.

also there are ships that have high speed as an advantage for auto pilot the skill would make them useless

long live the Minmitar frieghter

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

It would be nice if I had a skill to turn on my afterburners or MWD when I'm auto-piloting my industrial tp the gate.Blink

hate ap distance fly the damn ship around.

Or agility/speed rig it. I got some faster afk rides. Marked increase in autopilot run times.

ODII in lows helps too.

Yes you lose cargo room...pick what you want more. Don't work on freighter ofc...deal with it. Or get an orca....this trick works (kind of) on them too.

having a skill for that might be ok, BUT make it such that with the skill at level 5 the best distance you can get is 12-15km (slightlty better than now). without skills the distance should increase to 20-25km, more than what we have now.
