CFC haven't accomplished anything other than having a larger coalition than anyone else.

We all know about Afghanistan and the issues the US has had with insurgents. The Americans turn up in force the Taliban disappear. As the Americans move around they're ambushed by IED or small groups. The more territory one has to cover the more problems the larger force have.

Now imagine an Afghanistan where the only time you could attack the Americans was at a time and place of their choosing. And whenever they want to move supplies or troops they use magic portals to travel rather than roads. The war would be over before it began.

That's what we have in EvE. A system designed to guarantee victory for the largest coalition and remove any negative effects of holding vast amounts of space. Where even a 100 million isk sov structure has 10,000,000 HP and magical 24hr vulnerability.

The blue donut is nothing to be proud of, it's a symptom of broken game mechanics and the result of CCP recruiting null sec players with existing null sec bias to design their game.

lol IRC is still around?

Do you accept the challenge or are you going to keep talking goon.

Nope. We have no interest in taking every bit of space everywhere. We are just going to herd all the 'grr goons' morons into one area and use it as a game preserve. Kind of like what we used to do with IRC in Cobalt Edge.

It's all fun and games until CFC loses something right?

That's normally when they petition their mates at CCP to change the rules in their favor.

They have to obliterate N3 from the map.
They then have to recruit more renters for that area, though they will likely end up renting back the systems to the people they take them from.

Then, once even the line members are fat and rich enough (Nyx's for everyone?), and more importantly bored enough, they begin their campaign ingame campaign again against high sec. They have pretty much won the out of game campaign, as we have seen with the high sec POCO gift, and seagull's "vision" of the game, so there is little to do there.

But the ingame griefing campaign against high sec has been in a relative lull for a while.
That will be geared up again, very soon, as their is no one left in null to attack.

You forgot the nature preserve.

The what?

The nature preserve.

Once we conquer all of nullsec and bully CCP into nerfing low and highsec to suit our sadistic tendencies (you're not crazy, you're a visionary), we're going to create an area of space to keep all non-goon players (i.e. you) in what is basically a game preserve, where wealthy, mustachioed gentlemen of good breeding (or the nearest Goon equivalent) can go to hunt their inferiors (i.e. you).

Napoleon had the same problem, the Boer War, similar thing, all over the place in WW2, Vietnam and Iraq and now Afghanistan.
All the same problem: you cannot defeat a popular local force, it has local knowledge and the ability to merge with the civilian population.
Unfortunately for those locals winning the fight was never the goal, securing the resources was, so the angry guerilla locals pretty much ensure the presence of invading foreign might. At least until losses look bad politically.
Eve has no women or children to consider, you can just zerg the territory and it's all over.
Instead of people whining about busted mechanics the goons exploit, either vote with your wallet and unsub, or suggest solutions. Sov has been a miserable chore since it was born.

PS Good alt-poasted backpatting thread. Same old same old huh?

Wouldn't taking all the space in a competitive game be winning? Is Othello broken when I flip all your pieces to my color? Will everyone think football is broken when the Seabroncos win? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!... wait.. I seem to have gone into a John Belushi rant here.

CCP will never change null, it would require immense radical changes that no nullbear will accept, and we all know it would upset all of them, you can never have guerilla warfare with timers thousands of capitals and million hp structures and they have no intention and shown none to change it.

The only change it might ever get is that another huge ass coalition to be able (again) to compete again with another huge ass coalition, if you ever think guerrilla warfare, strategic deployment, or skills > numbers, strike forces and all that having a chance in this game, then it won't happen, not in null at least.

Figure how easier it is to work on WHs, low sec, high sec and add great amazing content, now null, what is the solution if no one is willing to change anything but keep mostly everything the same? none what so ever.

CCP with their grand 5 year plan are hoping to leave null in its state till the new space arrives, and that will be "without/reduced timers" and all that null should have been, so null seccers don't unsubscribe from the game from a radical change to their "owned" space.

Will they succeed? I very much doubt it.

Nope. We don't even think enough of highsec to make it into a game reserve. We just day trip there sometimes to have fun with the natives.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

Plenty of people have made suggestions to help alleviate sov issues. For years. The simplest is just to remove mails on aggression. Lets see Goons hold every null system in EVE without having someone logged into every null system in EVE to sound the alarm.

Its such a simple and small fix likely requiring a database entry change rather than any coding. IE - mobile depots reinforce but don't mail. Ping Pong be screwed, if you don't have enough people to defend bad luck if you do no ping pong.

Sure. Doesn't that still favour the gang with the biggest numbers?
Alt eyes in every system instead of mails.
I understand how sov used to be and how it is now, but i can't think of improvements that don't favour zergs or can't be simply gamed by them.

Yes it does favor the gangs with the biggest numbers but that's how things should be naturally. Numbers are a natural and valid mechanic.

However what it does is remove the ability to have 2000 systems from Tenal to Paragon Soul with not a soul in 500 of them and still have instant alerts if attacks occur in those 500 systems.

It should be up to the player to notice and alert the alliance or coalition that something is reinforced over the 24 hour period it takes to come out of reinforced, rather than the system to auto-send the mail the instant something is attacked.

If in 24 hours no alliance member enters the system, or no alliance member who see's something is reinforced reports that, then they should lose those reinforced objects.

Small step, baby step, but that's whats needed, not a sweeping reinvention of Sov so that it turns into another failed system. Just small changes that can be tried, reverted if they don't work, or progressed on-wards if they do.

No one stays friends forever in EVE. Always gonna be someone backstabbing someone else. I doubt the blue doughnut as people are calling it will last forever.

People never thought BoB would ever be brought down. Goons did it. People probably feel Goons will never be brought down. Just remember, there is always someone scheming to be top dog, just sometimes, it takes a while to accomplish their goals. Blink It's the nature of the game.

Just a matter of time.
