A lot of people in here saying 'No one wants avatar gameplay', in a thread filled with people saying they want avatar content.

If all the people who say they can't live without wizard dresses and space pants would cancel their subscriptions and there were enough of them to make a financial impact on CCP then CCP would change their minds.

During the Summer of Rage so many people canceled their subs that CCP flew the CSM in for an emergency summit and immediately changed the direction of the game.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

We've linked the original thread-naught to you to show what people were actually complaining about, we've shown dev blogs where CCP apologise for everything ELSE except their WiS ideal. When it comes down to the 'Eve development was neglected for two years' for WiS bull ****, Tippia linked the original article where CCP said they were going to be spending 18 months on ... wait for it... back end changes, maintenance, engine development and balancing. That sound familiar to you?

Gonna address that or wilfully ignore it? Someone earlier compared you to a parrot, and it seems your happy to confirm it. You've honestly got nothing else, have you?

What point? You're literally just frothing at the mouth ranting. Unless you have proof that WiS is currently being worked on or will be in the next five years (you don't) then the current state of the game and the devs stated map of future content is all you have.

I'm ranting? That's rich coming from you. Whether it's being worked on or not makes no difference to whether or not CCP should or will work on it. They're not working on SOV or modular POSes right now either.

The point is you have no argument here except to keep spitting out bull **** onto the forums. Your argument boils down to this;
- CCP aren't working on something therefore they never will.
- The summer of rage was because of CCP's plan to work on WiS.
- And 'but barbies whhhhaaaa!!!'

All of which is complete bullshit. And you can't substantiate any of it. Just give up. You make yourself look like more of an idiot each time you post.

They aren't being worked on right this second but they are scheduled to be worked on. WiS isn't.

CCP learned a lot from the Summer of Rage and luckily they haven't forgotten those lessons.

Honestly OP the real reason we don't have wis is because CCP listens to the people that don't want the game to evolve... Sad part is they will be the same people that would jump ship soon as they see a decline....

Its like the 5 year old that doesn't get there way thew thew a tantrum at CCP and stomped there feet and cried because they thought ccp was doing them wrong..

Fyi wis wasn't the issue The Greed that was the 80 dollar monical was.

Never really understood why people call EvE a sandbox game.

PVE - Every mission is scripted. Every sig is scripted. Every incursion is scripted. Mining is scripted.

PvP - while not scripted from 2003 to today it's remained the same. Gate camping, blobbing, there's only a few optimal set ups no player innovation or out of the box mechanics.

There's only one way to take SoV, it's not spontaneous, in fact the opposite, you must turn up when the timer says so. No guerrilla tactics.

Remember Privateers? I created that, rather than taking Sov or sitting at gates we created a system of raiding alliances that didn't involve blobbing, gate camping or any of the same old scripted PvP. That was sandbox. It was soon patched out of the game because it "wasn't fair".

EvE is as sandbox as WoW there are rides, and only one optimal way to ride them.

WIS will allow for actual sandbox play.

I cant be the only one that comes up with crazy ways to screw with people in this game. I get so side tracked that I dont make isk a lot. I recently bounced around lowsec as a group of 3 people where trying to catch me. Ide slow down just enough that they knew where I was at but then Ide be gone again lol. Did that for an hour laughing my ass off then they finally gave up.

Then I switched to a pilgrim and cloaked making it seems like I went AFK while the one remaining guy decided to rat. I stalked him for about 15 minutes and right when I was ready to kill him a corpie of mine accidentally warped to 0 on the belt and screwed me over lol. At least he was able to kill him in time.

ive parked battleships right on top of someones orca and just sat there silent before too. its pretty obviouse the second they come back to the computer lol.

Its not a complete world but it is pretty complex. The game is what you make it, if all you want to do is "go on the rides" then thats your loss.

Theres actually more you can do in space then you probably ever could in station... but thats how it should be.

I'm probably the only goon who wouldn't mind an expansion of WiS but only if it didn't come at the cost of development in other areas. As it stands WiS could use some serious performance tweaks, and I wouldn't mind being able to **** around with my avatar, with other people's avatars, instead of ship spinning.

That said, I care more about the active game development. What I do in between ratting or pvp is inconsequential compared to the quality of the space part of the spaceship game.

BoB wasn't beaten with spaceships. Fountain wasn't only won with spaceships either. Avatar based non ship PvP is and has in the past been an extremely important part of victory loss in EvE.

The metagame takes place outside of the eve client and I can tell you that diplomats wouldn't suddenly be meeting in smoky pod-pilot bars. Everything metagame would continue to take place on chat clients and bulletin boards, expanding WiS has no impact on that side of the game, and it wouldn't as long as the major null players generally stay the same.

No it doesn't just take place out of the game. Go to Jita and check local.

I spent the majority of my time war deccing large corps and alliances since 2003. That almost always involved getting a number of spies into a number of corporations in alliances. I trained up a hulk / link booster / missioner for the sole purpose of having an excuse to start up a conversation with one of the members of those corporations, pretending to be mining, offering to share links, helping on missions.

Ghetto workarounds to there being no place to "bump into" someone to socialise and develop trust for an invite. Were there places such as casinos, bars, or other socialising areas in the game to "bump into" targets the subversive part of the game would be so much better.

While I understand that you can screw around in warcraft like that also its still different since you can not hurt anyone if they dont want you to. You also did not make a point relevant to the argument at all.

Wis would be an expansion onto the captains quarters. You wont be able to do all that crazy **** with WIS that you could do in WOW by any means. I doubt they would even allow us to run or jog at all. We may be able to walk around the stations some day but if your hoping to be able to "stab someone with a spoon" or have any real PVP on foot, that will never happen.

How many expansions cough patches does it take they had 10 years mb it would be nice if they finished wis and cough actually added content to the game..... New ships and balancing is not content...

Incursions were added to EVE Online on 18 January 2011 <<< that's the last resemblance of actual content they have added.

call me a hater... Tell me to go play another game doesn't matter.. I like eve but i also like if the people i give my money to actually adds stuff to the game i play....

Hi there!

It's obvious from your uneducated and ignorant opinions that you are very new to Eve (or very stupid, but hey, I'm an optimist) so let me help you out here. The way that our little sandbox works is that the PLAYERS are responsible for generating content, while the DEVELOPERS focus on giving us the proper tools to perform this task with.

You seem more interested in having your hand held by developers who spoon feed you content. May I suggest you check out every single other MMO ever made, and leave us proper Eve players to our 'patches'. Protip: balance changes often allow us capsuleers to create tons and tons of new content for each other.

As far as PVE goes (and I fully admit that I do missions sometimes), some very wise person said:

Don't kid yourself. PVE is an afterthought in this game. The only real purpose of PVE in Eve is to provide PVP pilots with a target rich environment. (Paraphrasing b/c I am too lazy to search forums)

I hope this helps you resolve your gross misunderstandings about how Eve works.
