And Dell still makes the best Monitors out there IMO. I have several of them including 2 30 Inch. They are excellent...

I concur, as long as they're panels made by Samsung.

In which case you can probably save money by bying them straight from Samsung.

Wrong and Wrong...

1). There are only 4 or 5 manufacturers of Panels in the world. Hitachi makes IPS monitors which are licensed to LG/Philips who make most of the current IPS based panels in the higher quality monitors. The higher up Dell models all use IPS based LG panels.

2). Samsung doesn't even sell 30 Inch Monitors...

And the new 4K monitors use Indium Gallum Zinc Ozide for it's transistors and Liquid Crystals. It was invented in 2003, but didn’t find its way into production until 2012. IGZO’s main claim to fame is increased molecular mobility, which can be between 20 to 50 times greater than amorphous silicon.
ASUS PQ321Q uses 2 panels put together. Single panels of that size won't be available until the end of the year.

And they are made by Sharp and licenced to others...

I've noticed that my keyboard doesn't light up unless I open and then close the ESC menu in game. Sometimes this creates framerate issues, sometimes it doesn't, and I've crashed only once since Rubicon. Can't remember if I had lights on or off at the time.

The Alienware / EVE keyboard lights can be a ship saver. Love the lights. Hope they get this worked out.

Currently, there are crashes that are attributed to the display drivers and there are threads on the linky below that may have other tips and tricks so its worthwhile to peruse some of them.. good luck.

Latest patch broke DirextX 11 support. Switch back to DirectX 9 from the launch window options.

I decided to test this assertion and went to assemble a computer by parts through pcpartpicker (because **** trying to find all that **** otherwise).
Using reasonably priced parts that were exactly or close enough to the same as a computer I've been itching to buy from Alienware I ended up with a price that was actually roughly $100 more expensive.
If I went for cheaper parts I could probably shave a few hundred off that price but in the end that price is pretty decent when you consider that you end up saving a lot of time and effort spent on looking for parts, checking compatibility, comparing prices, waiting for various parts to arrive (or having to find your nearest Microcenter or what have you), assembling your computer yourself, and hoping everything works. You're also paying for warranties and accidental damage coverages that you don't get when you put computers together yourself.

I'm not saying you have to go out and buy an Alienware if you're looking for a gaming computer but people who say that it's a scam really don't provide any evidence for their assertions.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)
