Sounds like you would add this to the .exe target line to me. Sadly, I don't recall how to do this with Win7. In XP, you would right click on the application, select properties, then add the command to the target line shown near the bottom.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

create a shortcut to the exefile in eve folder\bin (on desktop)

right clik shortcut, properties, go on shortcut tab

look at target content

should be

E:\EvE\bin\exefile.exe

or
"E:\EvE online\bin\exefile.exe"

modify so it becomes

E:\EvE\bin\exefile.exe /noconsole /triPlatform=dx9

or

"E:\EvE online\bin\exefile.exe" /noconsole /triPlatform=dx9

Thank you for this, DX11 was giving me really annoying tearing issues, like vsync was broken or something. forcing dx9 fixed it.

thank you, thank you, thank you.

I've been getting gfx corruption leading to the game crashing, so have decided to try forcing DX9.

First thing is that the instructions given (E:\EVE\bin\exefile.exe /noconsole /triPlatform=dx9) worked just fine, but I'll clarify that there is a space after exefile.exe, and after /noconsole. Second item is that my framerate has jumped from around 60 to 140fps.

I'm planning on collecting stats for a few hours, trying DX11 again and collecting more stats, then I'll get back on my findings.

EDIT....

Just to confirm that after collecting FPS data for 2 hours the figures given are correct.

Having refresh issues with DX11. I used the /triParameter=dx9 switch and that seems to have resolved it. Im using a Radeon 7850. Drivers are current.
