The first four seasons of Law and Order... No soap just cops and prosecutors at work. Unless you meant you really only want adventure shows as opposed to serious drama.

Non-dramatic: Better Off Ted comes to mind.

Try Game of Thrones. Absolutely no drama. I guarantee it!

Herculies? star wars animated? flipper? hehe. sea quest?

But my vote is for Babylon 5. Then firefly. Lexx is a riot. Space 1999. Battlestar galactica (both). All have drama, long running stories, space opera and such. I dont know anime too well, just watched ghost in the shell a bit, whatever it's called. Or was that bebop cowboys. But a bit too cute for me, my pref is dark space opera mostly.

alright lemme aim this cannon nice and good... ok there:

I don't watch war shows or movies because it's fake. wanna know how I know? I just want some simple entertainment, with levelheaded characters, maybe make-believe is ok. it's just the drama--if I wanted it, I could get a job at McDonalds and have it all day while being paid to experience it, knawmeen?

Well, speaking in regards of B5, I'm not too big into aliens and such, I more like the idea BSG presented with AI (seems more real anyway), but B5 is far more realistic than say star trek. In fact the ST writers realized this thus STOLE (hehe) the pilot script to make B5 and did that-that whole ST:DS9 thaang. Of course they left the most realistic stuff out, like Newtonian physics/laws of motion for example. And gee, if you look at it that way, B5 is more realistic than EVE... lol. Well yes, ST:V had some fluidic space too, as EVE is, but these aren't the droids you're looking for *waves hand*

Maybe Quantum Leap? hmm quantum theory/mechanics/physics is quite interesting imo. Even worth a little study as you watch. Edit: oh yeah, you already listed that one. hmmm.... there have been few shows in the flavor you are looking for it seems. Then again, Space 1999 is maybe closer to it. I heard that they've been considering on doing a remake of it too. Then sea quest, maybe in that flavor of TV shows as well.

Then Lexx isn't about "war", more about sex starved odd balls blundering across a parallel universe into ours while doing it all in a very suggestive shaped ship... oh and with a dead guy.

oh yeah! star trek! the hell is wrong with me, that's something i could watch with a bucket of popcorn. deanna troi and her cute little pooch, gah, and beverly crusher queen of milfs, pray for us trekkies now and at the hour of our death

Damn, i forgot about Lexx. Good show. Always seemed like a Farscape/Firefly parody show to me.
If looking for anime, Robotech...there is no other anime!

since a lot of great stuff is alredy mentioned here (and i completely agree on b5, lexx, firefly, fringe, etc)..

leverage?

it is a bit stereotype-y sometimes, but great fun as characters are well developed, dialogues funny and the cast is absolutely great.

I am sure there was a little drama in it, but since Quantum Leap was mentioned I will go ahead and throw Sliders into the mix. It was good and fun series!

Let's get clear on the definition of Drama:

"a play, movie, or television production with a serious tone or subject"

"a state, situation, or series of events involving interesting or intense conflict of forces"

Sorry, but "Game of Thrones" is most indeed a drama. It ain't gonna get a Golden Globe for best Musical or Comedy Series, that's for sure.

ah i heard about that. he died irl right?

i'm starting with fringe, and spartacus. yeah that's a start. I hope the supernatural premise of the fringe is enough to keep the drama away. a show like that has to know better than not deliver on the supernatural happenings..... right?

spartacus = soap opera with nudity and violence tbh. Terrible terrible series.

I'm not sure if it is the genre you're looking for, but THE WIRE is the best show ever to grace a television set. Ever.

May I have your stuff?

"Rome" is awesome. espetialy for somone who love historical movies or themes, damn good acting, deep relations betwen characters also a lot deep morality aspects and violence, intrigue and love imo all these things perfect balanced.

If it bleed we can kill it.

For something a bit different, try The Artful Detective. It's a late-Victorian police procedural piece, set in Toronto. Think 'Agatha Christie' but make it Canadian.

Sadly, it's only on Ovation, which isn't exactly a widely-viewed channel.

I recently got Starz so I could watch Black Sails, which though i'm only 1/2 way through ep one, seems pretty cool. Anyway, I saw an ad for Da Vince(sp?) wonder if this si a new series or if anyone has seen any of it? Cause it looks interesting

Sounds interesting. I have never ever heard a thing about though, which is weird. I mean, its on Starz apparently, but it has had absolutely zero promotion.

Just because you build it doesn't mean they'll come.

The Wire is absolutely amazing, but involves 'drama'. That being said pretty much everything in this thread has 'drama' in it.
