Mentor Requested - 25 millions Isk reward

I am ready to pay 25 M isk for mentorship.

Even if I joined in 2005, i never left highsec and I mostly played alone so I still consider myself a newby / extremely casual player. I am looking for advice to start PVE .

I would like to have a training plan for a triple boxing combat formation. The challenge are:
- Managing 3 ship in combat. I can focus on the main ship but the 2 support ship must need less management. Something with a low click per second or I wont be able to keep up. Passive thanking, etc...
- Trainning plan for each toon
- Fleet formation and how to properly control it
- Corp I should join and what type of player I should look for.

My schedul is erratic, so I cannot really participate actively in team event and stuff. That's about it. Anyone interested to pitch in, your welcome!

25mil is pocket change, I'd be wanting at least 300mil an hour at a minimum if mentoring was something I was inclined to do. Even if mentoring for isk was a thing, it'd probably be a scamming kinda thing. I suggest you join a player corp.

Yeah, of course, when a 55" TV cost 350$, what a show off.

That rig, computer + the 3 TV costed less then 2k. Some people here spent much more on PLEX alone in the last 5 month, so give me a break...

Point is: triple boxing is fun but that don't make you a good player. Bah. why I even try, such a great community that just wait to tell people to **** off.

In before thread lock.

OP, by any chance, do you own 3 Ferrari's?

Also, join RvB and use that setup in Poinen or JosametoEvil

Hey i'm really not lying, I just came back from indeed 1 year ago, when plex was between 300-400 mil. Sad And it's not a show off, for god sake your average computer screen cost more then a flat tv! For 1x HP 28" computer screen I can buy 2x LED 40" tv. That's what I did and yeah, eve online look quite better on a 55" with 2x 30" sidewinder then if I went with 2x HP 28". And it cost big time less.

Post IS serious, and the setup do matters if someone was interesting to really help or give advice. Really, I ask seriously: how do you setup a 3 multi-box combat fleet with limitation on your click rate capacity for the two wingman.

After the change in NPC AI, you don't.

AI will switch aggro, so you will have to pay attention to all 3 accounts.

Step aside, serious answer coming through!

For multiboxing, and thus indirectly effort:ISK ratio, very few things beat the AFKtar. The ship scales with number of accounts pretty much as far as anyone I talked to tried to push it.

The ideal location for you is any Gurista or Serpentis space (due to your damage and tank profile), preferably in an upgraded system. Start by joining a corporation in a renter alliance (such as Greater Western Sphere, which conveniently holds several Gurista regions). You will get free access to nullsec sites without many obligations.

Once you get enough ISK and if you want to do some combat, you can "graduate" into a real alliance. The skills to fly three characters in PvE directly translate into combat, where you can run all sorts of boosters, scouts, cynos, etc. on your alternate accounts.

Well, Lvl4. Let's say you put your main as the active tank / drone. What's the use of the two wingman knowing I can get half the click rate I will give to my main?

Should I use the wingman as passive tank, aggressive drone combat and the main as high speed fighter / electronic warfare? So I drop the two wingman, just retarget on rotation and keep 3/4 of my time on my fighter?

Or I drop the main as a massive tank / support ship and protect my wingman as both high dps - fast combat. Even if I can give them only 1/4 of my attention, I orbit the tank at high speed and just target and shoot? Tank heal and long range aggro everything?

You know what I mean? For example, can a Maelstrom be such a vessel? Healing and tanking while shooting from a really long distance, while I keep my wingman in 10km range and destroy everything that come to 20km from the tank. I use 4 shield healing drone, 2 for each wingman and leave one drone for combat or electronic distruption?

PS: Thanks for bitting, I seriously appreciate your input guys, it was no joke,

Oh gosh Big smile

I'm not trying to be mean, and I saw your thread in GD too, but it's obvious you're excited about your new setup. Really no need to provide the details/pics of your triple-box setup though when seeking a mentor. That, combined with the unusual kind of mentoring you're asking for, the tiny amount you're willing to pay, and the fact you're posting in the wrong area is only going to draw some flames your way.

Anakhel wrote:

So you're asking for someone to mentor you in finding a Corp that will mentor you?? What?

Honestly I don't know what tricks or tips you're hoping to learn. Triple-boxing is like dual boxing, only with a third ship to manage. Dual boxing is like flying solo, but with a second ship to control. etc...

I triple-box often, using a simple laptop and dirty-old alt+tab and have few issues. Three can be a little too much for me to manage in PVP though, but two is quite manageable. I alt+tab between them and fly each ship as I would if they were solo. I do use passive tank on most of my ships though as it makes them much easier to manage when boxing.

Just join a corp that appeals to your gameplay style and you'll get free advice, guidance and experience Smile

Certainly. Half a plex is $10, fairly generous for an hour of my game time. It's also time that will likely be spent answering silly questions and explaining the obvious (not enjoyable for me). Google can do that for nothing. Or you could join a player corp, or just figure things out yourself.

Hey thanks for the serious answer, finally. I will take time to read this ship fitting carefully.

@Erica Dusette. I sadly don't find anything flashy about a couple of hundred bucks when we witness 150k USD blow up just 3 days ago. Really. If I had post a full details of my hardware, the card, the ram, the SSD, maaaybe. But only thing is the screen and that's a link halfway burry in my post.

I do see a difference between two and three boxing for a combat fleet for each ship role: at then end of the day you will split your attention between 3 ship and one will get probably 2/3 of your attention. If you'r multiboxing by alt-tabbing, don't you end up half thet time playing 1 ship and having the other on follow or lost in space?

I never said it was flashy, although it is a sexy setup.

All I meant was that it wasn't needed for your post, and when combined with the other factors I mentioned (not to mention your GD thread) it gives the impression you're just looking for an excuse to showoff your desktop. *shrug*

And for those reasons mentioned you can expect some negative responses. *double-shrug*

Well of course how you fly each ship will depend on what it is, it's role, the situation and many other factors. Just as 3 individual pilots would do. There's no blanket answer or strategy that will cover all these variables. Find what works for you and just practice.

But as to your last comment - No, I just get my ships orbiting (or holding range) at their optimals and start shootin', cycling through them every few seconds to keep tabs on damage taken, range, heat damage, etc

That's if I'm flying 3 DPS ships. No different if it was 2 DPS and an ECM boat. Get each into it's respective optimals and let rip, tabbing back regularly to check their positioning and damage, etc.

Thanks for the input. So you two ship orbiting your lead ship, right? What type of ship did you had? Do you get into drone management on top of that?

Is there a way to give a ship order to automatically target / assist your main ship target instead of spraying out your DPS accross many ennemies?

In any case, thanks for the answer.

Negative. All ships orbiting (or rather 'focussed on', whatever the maneuver) the target.

But sure, depending on the ships and situation maybe you'll have one orbiting another (logistics for instance), and perhaps yes - maybe you'll focus on one ship more than others if required. Depends on a ton of factors, not least the ships you're using and who/what they're shooting at or being shot by.

As for drones well I don't use them a great deal (my general setup is 2 x DPS Tengu's and 1 x cloaky Proteus), but I'd just launch them and send them off along with the first volley of missles.

Not sure exactly what scenarios you're intending to get into, but why not just grab your ships and start practicing against some low-grade rats. Get a feel for the setup, adjust as needed and keep practicing on harder targets until you have a fleet composition and flying style you find works for you.
