Im new to eve. Started several years ago then wife got all uppity about how addicted i was. Started back up almost year ago. Ground out a years worth of plex mining ice. Learned a bunch about the game. Decided my goal was carrier ratting using sentries. Along the way i was going dominix and rattler because it looks cool even if it wasnt really an upgrade to dominix. More like a month skill detour to have a ship that looks awesome rather than a potato

Setup evemon skillplan for full year. Been logging on intermittently to keep skill que chugging along. Im a month put from maxing out the drone skills i had planned

Today i read the nerfs their making to sentry ratting. Not sure what i should do now....

1) ive heard rattler is completely trash(cant handle that) now rather than subpar(could handle that)

2) that heavies with improved tracking were gonna be the new fotm for drones?

3) that lights were the new fotm for drones

4) carrier fighter drones were a close second choice for carrier ratting are they the new fotm drone for carriers? Would still have to decide on my bs drone choices. Or should i do bare minimum in regukar drones. Grab a conventional weapon system and jump to fighters when get a chance?

5) where can i read about some new game mechanic where u can do refits on ur ships(bs only?) Outside of station. Some people were talking about using scripted omnis then switching to mjd/propulsion when it was time to gtfo

The new FOTM is mining dreadnaughts. Chribba does it, and look how loaded he is. For maximum isk/hr, you should do it in a phoenix.

meh ... nerfs didn't particularly effect the Domi or Ishtar and had no effect whatsoever on the AFK sniping Domis that are using bouncers out to 160km :D

Yes im new to eve. Starting an account several years ago and being dormant for most of it doesnt make me not a newb.

So domi wasnt affected much by the nerfs? Because in other topics it seemed like peoppe were complaining quite a bit.

People complaining and actual game effects are not even the same ballpark.
doesn't mean they are wrong but try it yourself b4 you cry.
half the people complaining were basing it off the drone stats in game (which are def borked) rather than try the sentries in combat

You know what MMOs are like, the slightest nerf to one thing suddenly makes it "obsolete" even though it really isn't.

Well the choice is obvious, the ultimate in ship design and power, the Leopard. Word on the space vine is that even the Jovians are afraid of its potential.

But i would suggest you hurry and take advantage of this powerhouse of a ship before your Nerf Things We don't Like committee begin a thread stating "OMG it's too powerful for us to handle, nerf it to nerf hell".

You should be able to contact your friendly ccommitte member to find out about the timetable for the nerf thread and CCP agreement.

Domi are still fine for PVE. Can hit over 80km with Garde IIs, would be further, but I have only 2 omnidirectionals with the optimal range scripts and 1 optimal range rig. Used to have 3 omnis, but took one off and replaced it with a target painter a while back since I use more than one domi for PVE. The other drones can still hit well over 100km.

Also, the activation on omnis is very negligible on the cap. Didn't change any on my cap stability.
