Vargur or Kronos or Dominix Navy Issue and t2 sentries for lvl4 tank?

Hi. My main character is(Tolga Aldent) gallente, and my main ISK source is lvl4 missioning.
I have a minmatar alt (on the same account) , whichs purpose is PVP.

I am currently using dominix navy issue to tank lvl4, with a friend of mine who flies a glass cannon abaddon with t2 lazors. I deal damage with my t2 sentry drones and 2 omni directional tracking links.

We are willing to switch to marauders for better damage and tank.

So, should I train for Kronos or Vargur or should I stick with my Dominix?EVEMON says that both of them will take the same time for me to train, while Vargur takes maybee 2-3 weeks longer just because of its shield tanking modules (my minmatar alt is very young).

I have searched battleclinic for nice vargur and kronos fits but all of them use pretty expensive faction modules for tanking.
So, is a vargur or kronos with t2 mods > Dom. Nav. with t2 mods (Tankwise of course. I am pretty sure that its dps will pf course be better)
and is vargur >= kronos?

Vargur> Navy Dominix> Kronos as of now


And i've used every one of them. With the hybrid changes the kronos might be more viable than the navy dominix due to it's turret dps but other than that the vargur is still king by far.

EVE online is the fishermans friend of MMO's. If it's too hard you are too weak.

Only if you stick to kin/thermal missions, the drones do MUCH better for angles and sansha for example.

Vargur blows both out of the water.

The Vargur is more versitile than the other two ships due the flexability of it's ammo type. I would say for PVE: Golem>Vargur>>>everything else. Heres the Varg fit that I currently use, it uses a burst tank with about 4 minuites worth of cap (more than you'll ever need for any lvl4 mission) and puts out about 1300 dps, kills everything ******* quick no joke!

Vargur can easily do L4s with a T2 tank. If you want to spend extra money on it (250mil?), a Gist-C XL will make it sustainable for very generous periods of time -- which is usually unnecessary.

Just get a Vargur. The circumstances under which a Kronos or Dominix variant outperform it are slim. If you want to use your Gallente training, get yourself a Machariel instead.

Top Marauder picks, in no particular order.

1. Vargur

5. Tied as Golem / Paladin

Yeah, a bit biased but the Vargur is just awesome. Kronos only comes in right after it cause a friend of mine seems to love it and he went so crazy as to fit a a MWD on it for some missions, doesn't complain at all about any issues except for when he faces caldari NPC rats...he has come to hate the Bob Marley fans that are the Gurista...cause they be "Jamming!" Roll

Umm.. can the baddon and domi easily do 1300 dps? For the varg 4 min of cap is more than enough time to r@pe everything.

That 1300 dps is at 4km though, you didn't mention your dps loss at range

Vargur is still really powerful and often underestimated, Mach kills faster but salvaging on the run sorta makes up for it if you run vs angels/sansha/blood

Faction ammo is also cheaper, Kronos needs 100m3 drone bandwidth and it'll be pretty nice.

Can it solo a lvl4 (angel extravagenza and blockade?) and if it can, how much time does it take to solo those missions?

Machariel is pretty much everyone's eventual destination for missions, unles you're Amarr to begin with. : /

I do wish the Vindi was a bit more effective...

Yes and yes. How much time depends on whether you want to bother with the bonus room on AE (without is ~15min) and which Blockade you're talking about.

Consider Mach. It's a bit better than Vargur, requires less training (no Minmatar BS 5, you already have gallante BS), and can be armor tanked (7 lows) if you don't have shield skills yet.

I would not write the Kronos of completely, with the Hybrid changes something like this should out DPS a Vargur at about 30km and a Mach at around 45km. It depends on your engagement range. It is hard to beat a Mach its speed and flexibility alone make it worthwhile; it is its ability to throw out 5 heavies that really up the DPS difference.

It can solo Angel Extravaganza Bonus room. And it does have some pretty fast completion times...

You can do AE bonus room in something like Maelstrom too. It's basically a Vargur with less falloff :)
