The question is, will the CSM be able to get them to fix this?

Ugh

That depends on whether or not there's an overwhelming consensus about it. Honestly, I'm not wholly convinced that it needs to go. It provides a very new mechanic and we're not sure how much that will be used or to whose advantage. Clearly there's a strong negative trend about it so far, but I don't want to just reject any new content because it's new and it's not exactly what we asked for.

I'm with you on this.

Tbh it won't get any pvp opportunities out as far as i can see.
Ganking siterunners in < c3 will be harder sure, but you wouldn't call it pvp, would you?Smile
>c3 ppl are takled anyways, so this might buy ppl some time to scramble some sort of defence fleet to save their buddies bearing, which will give you a fight you wouldn't have had otherwise.

As far as ganking escalation fleets.
You will pop out a wh that just spawned and locals havent put anything on, so why would you worry?
If they are silly and don't close their exits, again, they are tackled sieged and whatnot.

Since i dont really give a damn about any of the above, make them change it or not it's fine with me.
My two cents

If you ask me, it's time for CCP to go back to working on Walking-In-Stations full time, every developer, everybody that can hold a pencil or click a mouse button! Every cotton-picking one of them.

Forwarding info to CCP. I hope it gets fixed as free intel should not be on the table in wspace.

Thanks Chitsa.

This needs to be removed form wspace asap. All it will do if it remains is reduce risk for people bearing. For those people saying it gives you a kill mail; I for one would rather have ships to kill not structures.

ESS is fine. Anchoring on WHs is not so fine. Make it so it can't be anchored within 3000km of a WH (same as for stations), and all will be fine.

I think ganks count as PVP to those before suggesting otherwise--granted its not the only type anyone wants. Hell, fixing the market is PVP for that matter. EVE is PVP.

I'll be honest, End-of-Line moved to a C5/C5 recently for a few things: medium sized T3 brawls on wormholes, deeper chains to cloaky stalk in, the opportunity for wormhole capital PVP, better ISK than our C5/C4 from the static, and the ability to gank C5 escalation fleets.

I like making things explode--hell, I enjoy my own toys exploding if I get to kill others toys in the process (usually anyway...). I think this just means going into a hole and scouting will provide way less opportunities to tackle something nice.

Let's also remember, tackling something "nice" with a small group and then slowly killing it to give time for reinforcements to arrive is also a normal tactic for PVP. This also hurts that potential.

The ESS needs to go.

Right now I'm most likely going to advise CCP to add the same anchor distance limitation as exists for stations. Other options would be to disallow anchoring in wspace entirely, or to turn off the local broadcasting, but I like the fact that I can drop one at the star and anyone dumb enough to warp to it has just announced themselves in local.

You sir, will not be getting my vote again...

Agree. Chitsa is cool. This isn't "emergent gameplay." Its the dev's changing something with little thought, and I'm hoping was an oversight they quickly fix. Free intel in wh space should not be given out, as Chitsa quickly has went on record saying, in agreement with what appears to be 95% of those posting here....

Well its not totally bad.

We all know most "surprise pvp" doesn't happen through a targets wormhole's static. As for non surprise pvp.. who cares if they know you are there or not>>>!??

Clearly Concord has little interest in wormhole space, there for the item really has no place in wormhole space. 25m isk to have a spam of who comes and goes in a target can be amusing.

Not going to say this thing is game breaking, but I will say it doesn't belong. As long as its here, i will think of some very cleaver ways to torment my fellow wormholers... and make for some good stories.

eh if its an oversight we might get a stealth fix as soon as a serious glitch presents itself...

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

The sad thing is i'm not sure if i'm telling the truth.

Making it so they can't be used to monitor jumps in and out of system via local is sufficient. Between that and the scan overlay you need an absolute minimum of effort to have effectively a local list that updates whenever someone jumps in from any hole.

They might make interesting warpin traps for POSes and planets and things, and while as a scout I'm not particularly fond of that I at least am willing to accept it. If you are scouting and don't check what you're about to warp to, you may as well be prepared to give away your presence from a standard can-and-bubble trap. If you can plant it on a hole, you have no warning and no way of avoiding giving away not only the fact that you jumped in but your name to everyone in system. That's not gameplay, that's the entire problem with local, and the reason I left for w-space in the first place.

The primary difference between this and a bubble + scout, for reference, is twofold. First, if you are using a scout, the scout has to be paying attention. If it broadcasts in local, only one person anywhere in the entire system needs to be paying attention. Second, they don't need to be paying attention the exact minute you jump in, it will log it in local for all to see, so I can walk away, come back whenever, and know that someone jumped in, and even more know exactly who that person is. There is no gameplay here, just free information that W-space is specifically NOT supposed to provide.

So, keep it away from WHs or kick it out of w-space entire, I don't care, but the current state is completely unacceptable.
