Okay so not so much as a question this time just more of an appreciation for the game or better yet It's community!

So as a noob I've been bombarding this forum and the in game channels seeking help and guidance on all manner of topics (mostly about the short cuts hah) and no matter how mundane these questions may be you guy;s have risen to the challenge and answered to the best of your abilities so thanks to that!

But today however I briefly met a soon to be ex - player of over a year who was willing to give me a fledgling noobie all of his worldly possessions of New Eden, so after just under a week of game time I now have over 600 million in ISK and so much stuff he had to give it to me in five different contracts, although it was mostly mining based.

I don't know if I should name names or not, but seriously just a huge thanks to this community in general.

The only question is now with such an abundance of riches, what on earth do i do?

Cheers guy's an gals

The first thing you should do with all that ISK, is to show it to a GM. In EVE you never know what bot ... err ... where the ISK comes from.

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

Spend it on Catalysts, and get ganking miners.

This.

Then if legit, give it to me and I will double it....just kidding of course.

I would sell any item he sent you and dont use or wont use for the next 2 months.
Then make a 2nd character on your account and transfer most of the ISK over.

Basically you are making a savings accounts character to keep that ISK safe and you wont waste it on things.

One of the issues with being a young player with a lot of ISK is that its so tempting to use it.
"Oh i can afford a battleship now!Lets go and buy one and them jump into 0.0", shortly followed by a pretty explosion and some snickering when people look at the killmail and realize you have it fitted with small guns and dual armor/shield tank/rep Lol

Use the ISK to buy stuff you "need", not what you want.
Get skill books, replace your ships after hand as you loose them, if you want to do industry invest in a few small BPO's (the cheaper ones), and most importantly, go out and get blown up and have fun without worrying that you cant afford to replace the ship Big smile

my advice would be to pick a combat frigate you like, fit about 30 of them cheaply (5m per frig or so) and then lose all of them in faction warfare or red vs. blue. it will teach you the basics of pvp and may or may not help you to find a corp you like.

I should buy an Ishtar.

This is terrific advice. Join up with a newbie-friendly corp like Eve Uni, RvB, or Brave Newbies. Lose some ships, get some kills, learn from older players. If you find that you don't care for pvp, you'll have plenty of isk left over for getting yourself set up for missions, or mining, or whatever.

Well, If you'd like to do your part as well in giving back to the community, you might consider helping out other newbies who have been less fortunate than yourself, like this one here. Keep the cycle going. Smile

Let me the realist here and state that you're just trying to create a believable newbie character and "excuse" for why you suddenly ended up with a lot of cash which you didn't work for. Take it from someone who elevated altoholics to an OCD level; the super active, enthusiastic "hello I'm new here" first posts within a few days of character creation... they're never actually new players Lol

Agreed. I've watched this guy in Rookie chat as well as other posts here, and I'm fairly certain its a plant account.
This surprise cash windfall, and then to announce it for all to hear publicly, is oh so convenient.

People were not kidding about the world of Paranoia that surrounds this game aye'?

Seriously though I am a new player, not really sure of how I could convince you of this I was just wanting to express my immense gratitude toward the Kinda fella who gave me all his worldly possessions and your guys help. No doubt I'll still be spamming the message boards with questions come the end of my trial period. speaking of which.

I'm kinda in too decisions as to whether to sign up to RvB Alliance now and get stuck into some PvP action or stick it out and complete the tutorials first?

What do you reckon guy's?

Finally is there place I can stat track as a player, NPC Kills and time played and such I'm just interested is all

Cheers

Complete the tutorials, if for nothing else to get some free skills and ships (even if ISK is not an issue for you right now), but it will also introduce you to several EVE professions that may or may not help you in the future Smile

For the stats, this will help you find your total play time.

Golden rules of EVE:
If it looks like a trap, it's a trap.
If it doesn't look like a trap, it's a very carefully set trap that you do not understand.
Never trust anyone ingame unless you are sleeping with them IRL (even then, be suspicious).
Never undock in anything you're afraid to lose.
The only difference between a friend and an enemy is that you stab your enemies in the front.

As for my suggestion of what next: Contract Brave Newbies. Tell them you want to join, but don't join until you are near their staging system (they have enemies in highsec who will see you as a target of opportunity while you are en route)

Paranoia? I don't believe Eve is an MMO at all. You are all ELIZA programs.

at this point the only reliable way is to have an unremarkable EVE career with no more suspicious action for about a year. people will not expect a spy to invest that much time in creating a cover.

I should buy an Ishtar.
