Hi. Sorry to bother you but since the patch the activation of an afterburner or MWD no longer has any sound. I know you all have your hands full with other stuff and I couldn't find other threads here about it.

Also when I tried to follow the instructions to go to the Known Issues page, I got a 404 error. So that's not working either, or maybe it's just me.

Anyway, if you can bring back the afterburner and MWD sound that would be nice.

I kind of like it. Makes wormholes even more creepy.

With My bro we got same problem:/
No engine sound,no AB sound and MWD!
I cleared cache/change some audio and volume options and still nothing
Looks like we need to get this patched

Got exactly the same issues!
Normal engine sounds are completely gone too!
It seems like all the hard work the sound dev team did got borked in the most recent update. Ugh

It is probably something simple like they changed the indexing or location of the sounds and forgot to update all the routines that call up those sounds.

It's not only that AB/MWD sounds are nice. But missing some audio feedback about your drives can cost you a ship in battle.

Hmm, was just about to post about this. I was already having sound problems before Rubicon came along, and it's only gotten worse since then. Before 1.1 patch, my prop sound (both with and without modules) would randomly drop and it would take dock/undock with a station to reset the sound. Since 1.1, i have no propulsion sound whatsoever. I've tried this across 2 installations and 2 separate memory cards, both with the same results. The new content is nice, but between this and the more consistent display driver crashes for many users using DX11 instead of DX9, I'm starting to worry a little if this is becoming the new norm.

Edit: I mean to say that my experience has been a gradual one over the last few months, and things didn't just suddenly become this bad for me. On a brighter note, since testing between 2 cards, I no longer have to worry that my Asus Xonar card is the problem (love that card...) \o/

Edit 2: Also, I don't know if it's alright or not to share info from a ticket or not, I hope it's ok... but my latest response to my original sound issues ticket (related to the original post here) is that it's "still a work in progress", and that "we are not expecting a resolution for it for the next couple months, but we are still planning to deliver a fix for it." =/

Is anything happening here to fix this? I asked some of my corp mates if they were experiencing this problem and only one came back and told me his prop sounds were working just fine. Well, now I feel mislead because I had managed to forget about my previous post here, and completely reinstalled the game again from scratch (making sure to delete all the old data). So in my excitement, I undocked, hit the afterburner, and was met only with silence...

I'm really disappointed that there's no word from CCP on this (that I could find), and VERY little information about it whatsoever aside from this single solitary post. When you have super unrealistic guns blazing sounds in space (and I'm talking about hearing the enemies guns... when they hit your ship... from like 20km away... explain that one to me) but not a freaking peep from your engines, well... you know where I'm going with this.

It's been over a month and nothing has changed. Cry

Someone earlier in the thread said their corpmates are not missing the sounds. Is it maybe a case where the client needs to be reinstalled? I'd rather not do that if I don't have to.

Anyone have any other ideas?

I submitted a bug report about this. I too lost afterburner/mwd/engine sounds after Rub 1.1.

Can a dev state whether or not this is going to be fixed please?

BUMP

Is there a solution for this yet? I'm probably one of the few who actually could appreciate the work done to the engine/propmod sounds.

I remember them making it way too loud a couple months back, and then in the next update there was no sound at all. Somewhere inbetween would be great, lol.

Yes CCP, please fix the afterburner and microwarp sounds.

This is an extract from a response to one my tickets about this issue....

...after replying to you I brought it up with one of our sound developers and was told they're working on it. They're still working on it and I do not yet have an ETA for the fix.....
