Outstanding battle, wish I was there, I did enjoy watching it on the twitch feeds.

Great write up, nice to see some solid numbers on all those explosions.

So... how much trit was exploded and how long would it take someone to mine it?

First things first....

CCP Dolan - this is one of the BEST DEV BLOGS I have ever read. WELL DONE.

Seriously, well written, dumbed down for newbs and interested players, but also filled with read between the lines and dig deeper for us Vets. It took me almost 1.5 hours to read all the links but it was WELL worth it.

Kudos! Please make all Dev blogs like this. : )

Second - The links to the pictures and the graph porn were Awesome! I am not the biggest Goonswarm fan, but there video started it off right. I know everyone screams "Death to all Supers," but the supers had their day (PROPERLY I MIGHT ADD) and so did sub caps fighting to control the entrance to B-R.

I think this was an EPIC fight.

Kudos to the CFC and to PL (despite the "loss") - EVERYONE won. I loved reading about this and all my guys are super geeked up about our decision to move to Null-sec.

Cheers!

Great stuff!

This was awhile back, so at least we have some number to work off.

Again awesome fight. Good job all. Great popcorn stuff!

levis were actually quite important. without the presence of levis and ragnaroks the titans would probably have chosen a different fit, allowing them to survive more doomsdays from the Avatars and Erebuses

I doubt it was even 5%.

werent rags the best tracking titans ?

btw: my corp lost our third ragnarok today. the only other corp that managed to loose three is 4S from goonswarm. but if we count sala camerons rag loss from yesterday on our side (he already had the titan when he left us for PL) we are leading with four \o/

If this battle seems to prove anything to me, it's that downtime is a problem in need for a solution.

Find a way to limit downtime to maybe twice a week for maintenance (if needed at all). Modify current downtime jobs to run in the background while the server is running. An obvious one is belt growth, but there will be many more no doubt.

Interrupting battles with DT does affect the outcome of conflicts, sometimes this is who wins, other times it will be how much is lost. The current maintenance mechanics (DT) are breaking the sandbox...every day...year after year!

Fix it...soon!

I am serious!

Beautiful.

Anyone from CCP care to estimate how much the press coverage of this battle is worth in hard $$$ ? I'm guessing there will be an influx of new players after this.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=65469

we had 847 two years ago, (with a new one being build every day in 2011)

if we carry forward with those numbers (i'm doing some simplifications here) another 730 have been born since then. that makes 1577 total, or 1600 to simplify things a bit.

IF , and only if those numbers are close to being correct the CFC/RusRus side lost about 1% of all titans in the game and the N3PL side lost about 4%. Thats a total of 5% of all titans lost (once again, massively simplified numbers)

The next step would be to think about how many of the active titan pilots currently part one of the major coalitions ingame have lost a titan in B-R. i guess we are somewhere between 10 and 20% there. PL claimed they lost about 25% of their active titans, NCdot probably lost the same, others have lost considerable less.

B-R already made it on a bunch of major non-gaming media websites (including US Foxnews, UK BBC and GER DER SPIEGEL) and will make it on a bunch more. This is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Only EUTZ. USTZ supers clearly cowarded out and didn't jump. How else do you explain the lack of a USTZ bump in numbers? Twisted
