What i notice in the task manager under processes is that launcher.exe keeps getting bigger and bigger in memory usage. now upto 400 MB and growing rapidly..
Going to reboot my computer and try for the third time to install the patch.

Try 3: downloaded the patch to 9.35 MB and went then to not responding... Had to end the process through taskmanager.

Try 4: download went ok. The patch is installed and I am now in the login screen. And the client launched...

case closed.

My launcher just freezes solid, can't even type in my password without windows closing the window thanks to it failing to respond.

The download froze at 50% for me. After a minute or so it resumed.

Ran the repair tool, it did some stuff but the launcher is still irrevocably ******.

What miffs me the most is your can't even launch eve from the exe file in your directory, it just robotically fires up the launcher despite the fact that I avoided the launcher for the exact purpose that it **doesn't work**

Random clicking in the launcher folder cache has managed to resurrect my launcher in to actually working, will update with progress.

Finally can play, only after aimlessly clicking things I probably shouldn't have, that I didn't even know existed until tonight.

I had trouble downloading the big 1 gig patch yesterday

it got to 100% applying and just hung there for an hour, so I closed and relaunched, it proceeded to start from 0% again :( and again got hung at 100% so I ran repair tool, which just spat error after error at me, fine. I Deleted all content and re downloaded the entire game again

running through steam

now I am again stuck at (3/4): APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_653401-709728_WIN.PATCH: 100.0%

WTF do I do?

Five of my 10 clients had this issue at various stages of patching, 3 resolved on their own after removing the patch file and starting from scratch. The 9th I had to repair, the 10th i had to repair even twice before it was patched.

The patching isn't particularly flawless, this all happened on the same high-end machine that never crashes.

Obviously I decided to not play that day, nor today. Tomorrow maybe...we will see :).

I ran into this issue when I resub'd at Christmas (which I solved by drag and dropping over network from a friend's program files) and again with the release of 1.1. Turns out my antivirus firewall was making the patcher angry. Turning off the firewall while patching worked like a charm, and worked again yesterday when 1.1.1 gave me the same problem.
