I'd like to think this is going to be just one of the waypoints. You can't keep on placing landmarks every time a big fight occurs.

Why not ? If you automatically make titan wrecks persistant, you will not get an overwhelming number of new landmarks and it would be meaningful for the players to help shape Eve this way.

+1 for the idea, and I suggest we push this further with the idea at the beggining of my post.

Perhaps leading to an annual commemoration called "Titan's Dooms Day."

How many capitals and super carriers perished along side the titans during this battle? There might as well be a littering of Dreadnaught and carrier wrecks amongst the Titan wrecks

Numbers are a little over estimated in the OP:

Still digesting numbers from the B-R5RB Bloodbath. Here's one database query you might like to have sooner: 59-16 #eveonline #tweetfleet

But it's still 75 Titans in < 24 hours of fighting... I think a monument should certainly be in order so it gets my vote.

EDIT:

Thinking on this some more I have to agree with some of the other comments that we can't landmark every battle and leaving Cap Wrecks as a reminder would litter space till the end of time.

While I agree that this is the biggest Titan loss to date and shouldn't go unnoticed, and won't, does it need a landmark? What happens when 100 Titans actually die on field...another landmark?

Frack it, whack a landmark in and that the server stayed up, in fact put a monument for every largescale fight would add some new content and perhaps even add in a link on the monument where people can read up more on the event that happened. Make it a wreck that is interactive and make it interesting! You could anchor an Avatar if most of the kills were Avatars and inscribe along the side of the wreck the inscription so pilots can actually fly the length of the Avatar and read what it says while getting a sense of what it may have been like.

Just my thoughts and ramblings.

THIS WOULD BE EPIC.

Ofc there would have to be something suitable inscribed on the monument..... Twisted

I think CCP should put a Titan Graveyard landmark in B-R5RB (Immensea) to commemorate the massive battle that took place over the 27th and 28th of January 2014 where over 100 Titans were lost.

Note: This battle is still ongoing.

What about a new player deployable structure? i.e. landmark. Something tells me that it could have a better reception than the ESS thing.

I demand CCP show us what it would look like with new wreck models.

It's an interesting idea. I think it wouldn't be that bad to have one memorial per year if there are a minimum number of supercaps that die in a single fight. It's only January people, you have 11 more months to beat the 90 odd titan/super deaths in one fight.

I wasnt there, but what a way to kick off the second decade of eve than to have the biggest battle yet?

maybe it (the memorial!) look cool, and something the passerby can warp too and admire (possibly briefly as someone decloaks and kills them)
