What kind of Candlemas party is this going to be? I expect this Candlemas will have plenty of dancing girls, spiced wine and damp rags if you know what I mean. I don't get down with these traditional observances or the whole goddess thing.

Now, I have no qualms with the open-door policy, what Candlemas is or what planet celebrates it.

What gets me about this and other social events is the enforcement of dress code. It puts me off going because I don't want to put any host through the awkwardness and potential danger of telling a Thukker girl that she can't wear her leathers.

On the other hand, any event which imposes a dress code probably isn't going to be hosting the kind of patrons that are interested in my kind of business! Lol

It is, but there has been some upset in the past about only scheduling events on Saturday evening. The meaning of the occasion is not lost because of a day change.

If you drink and dance then you work up a sweat - a damp rag allows you to clean yourself off a bit.
