Could someone help me understand the crime aspect.

If I'm mining and someone steals from my cargo container, he turns yellow to me.

Does that mean:
1) I can attack him without Concord getting upset.

if so.

2) Once I attack him, can he summon in his whole corporation to attack me?

It means you can shoot him and trigger a limited engagement between the two of you for the next 15 minutes. If either of you get remote rep from anyone they'll be drawn into the timer as well, but if any of your (or his) corpmates try to bring DPS to the party they'll be spanked by Concord.

Note that he can re-ship, so that easy target he's flying when he steals from you will probably warp off and come back as a bid bad ship full of pain.

No, your rights end in optimal+2*falloff

You can, it's not necessarily a good idea though.

Nope it's generally between you and him, but 9 times out of 10 he'll reship into something nasty and murder you.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Ah. Good point on the re-shipping. I'm learning... slowly. :)

So if I join a corp and it happens, and I attack him, will that allow him in his new pain bringer ship attack anyone in my corp?

I only ask because as I understand it, if I'm in a corp when he steals from me, it will flag him for my whole corp to attack? Is that true?

I'm assuming he can only attack anyone who attacks him, but I want to be sure.

The old rules were that if he stole from your can he was flagged for combat to your entire corp if it was a player run corp, now he's flagged as a suspect, anybody can shoot at him, but they generally don't.

If he steals anything from a can - yours or another corp, he'll flag himself as a suspect allowing anyone to engage.

I would first of all recommend you to stop using a can to mine into. And secondly do mine into a can, but this time fit a battle procurer Twisted

Get on Comms, or die typing.

1) Yes. Use your judgement as to whether or not this is a good idea. It's hilariously fun if you are in a Procurer and you do not fear losing it.

2) Not without feeding those corpmates to CONCORD. Aggressing you will remain illegal for anyone unless they have a limited engagement with you (caused by you shooting them legally, or your drones doing so), unless you commit a crime yourself.

2a) Instead of reshipping, he may have an alt or friends remote repair him.

They will go flashy yellow too, but generally you will be alone and die since you can't break his tank.

So if you see a guy in a t1 frig looting your wrecks/cans, or more likely, in a expensive faction(pirate) frig looting your wrecks/cans, he probably has buddies or alts ready to warp in and keep him alive in the fight.

Dramiels, Daredevils, and Astero's seem to be popular for this.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Use one of the new MTU's for jet can mining. It will drag all of your cans in and "safely" store them for you. The whole aggro drone trick won't work after Rubi1.1

Edit: that felt dirty. As penance I will now be fitting a number of gank nado's for MTU's alpha
