So I am currently running the following on my Tengu
Rigs
x1 CCCII rig
x2 rigor rig II's
Highs HMs T2 Launchers x6
Mids - the Standard
Afterburner II
Faction Small SB
Shield Boost Amp
X2 Appropriate hardeners
Target Painter
Lows
Damage Control II
Ballistic Control IIx3

I mostly run L4's in Caldari Space is the Target Painter worth it for me? If not what can I put in my mid for good effect, another shield Boost amp seems excessive. Any advice from the old hands out there? Also can anyone suggest another good missile boat to train too after the Tengu? Again I mostly run l4's Is a Missile Shield Tank Loki anything to write home about?

I run a large booster on any Tengu fit I do. Sometimes you need huge boost, and in those times 'cap stable' just isn't going to keep you alive.
I like target painters a lot, but you also have rigors..( I run 3 ccc's with my large booster) An alternative might be a web.

As for the missile/shield Loki. Never gonna out do the Tengu for PVE.

I've heard the HAM Tengu is the way to go, but I never flew one, and my fit always worked for what I do, so my motto is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'

- painters have issues working outside their optimal which is 45km, so relying on painters means you might as well fit hams. If you don't use HAM then a painter won't help for the ranges the HML is capable of
- you have to paint any smaller target you're about to hit with your missiles, that means you can't shoot more targets than the amount of painters you have and since you only have 1 that's gonna suck

Moral of the story; don't rely on painters because apart from being annoying to use they severely limit your ship's capabilities.

Fit 2x T2 Rigor and 1x T2 flare and use that extra mid slot from the removed painter for a resist amp, either to help your resist against NPC or put in an EM one to help against gankers. That also allows you to drop the DC in favour of a 4th BCS.
