Ok so I am just trying to get into working with tool development for Eve and from what I can tell there are 2 potential sources for information.

1) The Eve API, which is pretty decently discussed / defined and easy to find information for.

2) Your local data cache.

I cannot find anything about what information is available in #2. I see a lot of posts saying it is now bannable to "cache scrape" but that you probably wont be banned, etc etc.

I am just trying to figure out what data is available in #2 to see if its worthwhile trying to decipher a bit more.

Thanks for any help anyone cares to provide, have a good one.

I can't tell you much about cache scraping cause I've not looked into it so far, but I can tell you that there're Entity's Python library and Desmont McCallock's .NET library for doing it and the threads seem to have some of the info you seek.

Also, there's a 3rd source of information for us which is the SDE, it contains static data like item stats and while I couldn't name any website that has detailed info about it like the couple API websites it's pretty well known and discussed here.

Much appreciated Rob, I will take a look at those libraries as well as the SDE.

Thanks!

Works quieting down, I think i will have a chance to look into these two today.

Also reading about the EMDR which is interesting.

I am most interested right now to see if I can figure out from the cache the location of my characters and also mission journal information.

Time to dig.
