Top on eve-kill is at 104 right now.

Yeah and it values the hull at 65b. Show me one titan sold in marketplace for less than 110
Here's a partially-fit Erebus with DD installed, 115BB ISK. So, subtract cost of modules... And EVE-Kill's assessement of the hul cost looks not entirely unreasonable.

Hold on to your buts folks 2.5 hours until US reinforcements will start to trickle on.

Problem is that at this point jumping in could be suicide. Getting stuck in the warp tunnel and not being able to lock and fire but still able to take damage and die is pretty sh*t.

They have a team working on this one sided mechanic

When I started playing, I don't even know if any alliance HAD 10 Titans, let alone see 10 Titans go down in one fight.
Even a couple years ago, when I was in null, I still remember the 1st time I sidled up to a Titan for a jump. It was pretty damn cool.
Now, a couple years later, they are as common as carriers were 3 years ago.

While I too, would like to see a game with finite resources, I just don't know how the game mechanics would work.
But until CCP does something to curb the ease at which they are produced today, the shock and awe value of seeing one used, or destroyed, is pretty much zero.

If you look at the closest real world analogy we have today, what would be the impact if the u.s lost a Nimitz, or the Russians lost the Admiral Kuznetsov, or if the Brits lose the Queen Elizabeth (if they ever finish it)?
There would books written about it, movies made, heroes and goats immortalized forever.

Today, in Eve, I understand individual pilots have had multiple titans blown up from under them.
Kind of cheapens the whole thing, yet we have these null sec babies screaming about how important their gameplay is, and how it is the only thing saving Eve, and by extension, CCP, today.

And if you look at how the US navy grew in WW2, you'll realize that this isn't a new "problem" confined to EVE: http://www.history.navy.mil/branches/org9-4.htm
Look at the increases in the "U.S. Navy Active Ship Force Levels, 1938-1944" table. Then look at the decreases in the following chart for 1945-1950.

More is more.

Yes, I see the massive buildup over WWII.
And the equally massive decline.
Canada at the end of WWII has the 3rd largest navy, based on the amount of anti-sub corvettes they used to escort convoys. Today, our Navy is a joke.

But my point about a supercarrier today being the equivalent of Eve's supercaps still stands.
As of today, I believe there are 6 supercarrier hulls being built in the world: 3 Gerald Ford hulls, 2 Queen Elizabeth hulls, and I believe the Chinese are working on their first domestically produced hull.
The three Gerald Fords are looking to be churned out in 2016, 2020, and 2025, basically one every 5 years.
Yes it is peace time, and if a cold war with China every geared up, output would increase.

But they are still a massive massive industrial under-taking, and the Eve equivalents should be more difficult to churn out than they are today.

How many of the supposedly 16 Titan pilots today who have lost one will be back in another tomorrow?

The entire idea that Titans are essentially a throw-away toy has reduced any idea that these fights are relevant to a total joke. That and the fact that even if this battle dealt a crippling blow to either side's supercap fleet, the Blue Blanket deal that goons and PL inked last week forbids either side attacking the other's home systems.

This fight is just an expensive thunderdome.

There are at this point hundreds of Titans in a game with litterally millions of ships. if you don't think a Titan kill is epic then thats all just in your head.

12-6 N3PL seem to be every so slightly killing at a faster clip than CFCRUS are.

Could be very interesting evening ahead....

(added note. Don't try and get through immensia without a cyno bridge/jump every gate is traffic copped and a turkey shoot.)

Once the US re-enforcements for both sides start welping-in, things should get downright messy. This is a fight that's going to spread.

A titan kill isn't the worlds-colliding news it used to be, but a supercap fight with 2+T in losses only a couple hours in is very noteworthy. There will be decent economic and possibly diplomatic repercussions from this fight, and as pointed out earlier, this should be heavenly news to the well positioned industrialist!

*edit* I meant two+ Trillion (as already reported on killboards), not 2+ Billion.

It might spread, but more likely it'll result in a crashed node.

Maybe.
But the Node's doing fine so far, and CFC seems to have learned their lesson from HED-GP.

2B is kinda low...Probably much closer to 2T allready. Average about 100B per Titan. W/ 19 dead Titans.

e: I wonder is CCP can handle having 2 multi thousand man fights going on. I think that things are going to start spilling over into surrounding systems. Big Subcap fights are on the horizon.

2B ISK in losses? I've seen mission-running strat cruisers in that range alone. Hell, a well-fit dred costs more than that.

When I dc'd it was 13-6, friend says its 14-6 now, and N3 is slowing down because Shield Titans are in short supply.

CFC is going to break the wreaking ball.....GRRRR Drone assist and OP Archons.

(im disappointed they aren't using Alpha tornados in support to blap the carriers.)
