wormhole skills for a newbie?

I think the EvE forums have been acting weird lately... Either my posts don't post or they just dissapear into the space..
My apologies if my other thread pops out of nowhere to screw me over..

I am very interested in living inside a wormhole, thing is, due to the very nature of living in a WH, people are all wary of thieves and of course the kittenton of millions of SP requirements just to join....

So my questions are:
1. What would be the recommended skills to live and at least joining a wormhole?
2.Are there any newbie wormholes corps? I know I am not expecting to join a C5 or C6 since that would make me a leech since I can't do anything at all there but maybe a C1 to C3
3. I know there's plenty and or lack of pvp in a wormhole, thing is, I barely have any pvp experience at all, would it be a good idea to join a FW corp or the famous RvB for some experience or is that kind of pvp experience irrelevant at all?
4. What about industrial skills for WH? I know some corps that do some kind of mining ops or industry but everyone on the forums treats doing Indy/mining on WH like the next Black Plague....

That's about it, many thanks in advance for people who read and answer and for their 0.02 ISK contribution Big smile

  1. Most WH corps don't actually have an SP requirement. If you are willing to train and learn how to live in a WH then they will want you.

  2. Good skills are Scanning Skills and T3 skills. Any corp in any WH would love to have you with those.

  3. WH combat is completely different from K-space combat simply due to range, effects, mass limits, WH mechanics, and isk values.

  4. INDY in WH's is awesome and extremely dangerous. We have all ores in WH excluding ice. Mobs do spawn in our ore sites, no belts, no local (so you are a big target), and that is mainly why little Indy goes on in WH's. Also. much more isk can be made from sites, so mot prefer to simply buy and assemble in WH space.

Oath of the Forsaken is a Training Corp for WH's and we do live in a C6-C3 so you can train in the C3 and make good isk once you are ready in the C6.

Send me a full API if oyu are interested.

I wrote up my opinions on this question last time it came up:
http://sihwm.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/have-you-got-what-it-takes.html

It is corp dependent but that will give you a good place to start and get an idea of what ships are used in WH space.

skills for wh:

1) you have to be able to scan on your own
2)you have to be able to kill anoms on your own
.....
99) you have to be able to do all the **** you wanna do on your own which makes joining corp irrelevant :D

If you wanna PvP join FW or RvB and stay there. If you wanna make isk shooting sleepers and doing PI while having your own peacefull empty system make some research about sleeper sites requirements and pos setups.

Dont forget about C4 space. Best space for subcap pilot. You can comfortably dualbox or solo with marauder all anoms. C4 space is the most peacefull space in eve. Just perfect if you dont mind some scanning and hauling through other wormholes.

Oddly enough there is very little of WH content you can do on your own. Anything outside of C3 space is not possible or feasible solo. Most of WH peeps you see solo have friends hiding somwhere. Also, PVP wise small gang content is better in WH's simply put you cannot get hot dropped by capitals or titan bridged thrashers.

Thank for the write up. I found it very informative. One question I have is what does T2 fit a battlecruiser mean?

"As a basic start point for low class w-space you should be able to T2 fit a battlecruiser with T1 guns for PVE and be able to fly a T2 fit cruiser with T1 guns for PVP."

He means being able to fit only T2 modules on the ship.
So that means t2guns t2 tank modules and other type of modules also t2.
