any reply from CCP about PL's claim that SOV dropped due to a bug?

If true, this would open a major can of worms... Massive fight due to bug? How do you make that 'right'..? Whichever side wins, if it *was* a bug, there will massive numbers of major cases of butthurt, no matter how CCP reacts.

Really hope it was NOT a bug...

If this is so awesome, I would suggest that every marketing employee at CCP jump on the phone to every contact they have at every online gaming site, and beg them to link this twitch TV feed to their front pages.

I am on that twitch feed now.
Wow, does it ever look entertaining.
I am sure this picture of multi-coloured squares, and a series of ship names flashing every 3 or 4 seconds is, as one of your sycophants put it, "an amazing fight".

Looks like I hit a nerve :smug:. I don't think CCP contacts any of these papers either, a reporter looks and goes "holy **** that's amazing that can happen in a video game," then does a report on it. I don't see highsec inspiring any of those.

Compared to "all of those ships undocking and then warping with no risk or explosions ever occurring because of super magic goku police," it is an amazing event.

This being the feed the fight still appears to be boring. I've played faster turn based games.

While its fun to be in a huge fleet battle, the majority of people in the game will never be in one nor likely want to be in one so I doubt they're as exciting as you believe to everyone or responsible in any way for the majority of people joining EvE Online.

Having said that, in EVE you do what ever floats your boats so why argue over it anyway.

Aaaaand... All Twitch feeds have gone down for me. Which is less fun than it sounds.

I've never liked Twitch, and I wonder what ever possessed CCP to partner with them.

Please......while a reporter may do a piece on how much stuff was blown up, there is ZERO chance they will discuss how exciting it was.

There is a "drop of pitch" experiment going on in Australia right now that is more interesting than this circle-jerk, between squalling brats spoiled by too much coddling by CCP.

Imagine if resources were finite instead of respawning every day. Then and only then would these battles be truly impressive because we'd know that when a titan goes down, it's truly gone - forever.

Until the day comes that resources are finite, then "brats" is pretty accurate. It's like a 5 year old screaming about something that is very important to him, but you don't want a tantrum so we're like "yeah, cool. That's OK kid. Whatever."

When I started playing, I don't even know if any alliance HAD 10 Titans, let alone see 10 Titans go down in one fight.
Even a couple years ago, when I was in null, I still remember the 1st time I sidled up to a Titan for a jump. It was pretty damn cool.
Now, a couple years later, they are as common as carriers were 3 years ago.

While I too, would like to see a game with finite resources, I just don't know how the game mechanics would work.
But until CCP does something to curb the ease at which they are produced today, the shock and awe value of seeing one used, or destroyed, is pretty much zero.

If you look at the closest real world analogy we have today, what would be the impact if the u.s lost a Nimitz, or the Russians lost the Admiral Kuznetsov, or if the Brits lose the Queen Elizabeth (if they ever finish it)?
There would books written about it, movies made, heroes and goats immortalized forever.

Today, in Eve, I understand individual pilots have had multiple titans blown up from under them.
Kind of cheapens the whole thing, yet we have these null sec babies screaming about how important their gameplay is, and how it is the only thing saving Eve, and by extension, CCP, today.

And..... they join, get into the actual fight, are disappointed, and then.... somehow they get told that highsec is to blame. Then it's "grrrr highsec" all over the forums.

Cool
