Dev blog: SoE battleship & UI fine-tune

With Rubicon 1.1, to be deployed on Tuesday, Jan 28, we will introduce amongst other things the new Sisters of EVE battleship, the Nestor. Team "Game of Drones" worked also on UI improvements such as adding "Traits" to the ship "Show info" window which will show skill bonus applied to the ship in a similar fashion as the ISIS.

I'm curious to know why the Nestor has a shuttle bay and model when it doesn't have a ship maintenance array?

Any chance of getting the traits broken out into a yaml file or similar, as they're no longer in the SDE?

I still have no idea why anyone would fly a Nestor when there are ships for 10% to 25% of its price tag that do all of its possible roles better or equally well.

With their ridiculously small mass I presume they should be slowcat equivalent for wormholes. Blob of say 20 of those would have exceptional self reping ability, and bunch of drones to burn down any opposition.

Cool to see the market infos being updated. However, it would be cool to see more informations as well on the tabs such as Armor, Shield, Speed etc without having to open the Info.

This would be good for modules as well!

Awesome! The thanks of 3rd party devs making fitting tools and ship databases will be yours.

Apart from that little and hopefully short-lived annoyance those are all great changes.

I really hope someone finds a good use for those nestors and is willing to pay around 1.7bn or more per hull. That would be... really great. For my wallet. As it is right now the price for each SoE ship is determined by the collective demand for all three, so if the nestor is lackluster, that will be.. sad.

Lovely looking ship, it would have been fun to have a covert cloak but Im sure it will still be a brilliant logi ship.

Or maybe the moron is the one who fail to see the irony of someone stating that there personal opinion is a fact...

That said, I think the majority of player would agree that a exploration ship without a cloak wasn't what we needed. A cloaky logistics ship on the other hand, is something that would be useful to many players.

That with the nestor you should have given it shield as well as armour logo bonuses, this way it's free to be used as either shield or armour logi (incursions and PvP spring to mind)

The Nestor really needs a shuttle bay to match its model Straight .
