Insta-lock by Incursion NPC's?

While traveling through low sec in my interceptor (Stiletto), I passed through an incursion constellation. I was selecting the next gate and hitting 'jump'. As you know, this causes normally your ship to decloak, align and warp to the next gate, jumping through. I did not do anything else to decloak my ship, yet incursion rats on the gate locked, scrammed and killed my little ship. I wasn't lagging and was on a wired connection at the time.

Has something changed? Or, as some have said to me, is this a bug? I've flown through low sec incursion gatecamps with battleships and not been targeted. My interceptor probably couldn't have been caught by a player gate camp, yet these npc's instalocked before I got to warp. Working as intended?

well, the rats do use the same scan res mechanics. They just happen to have 0 latency and instant reaction time. Now imagine how hard it would be to run camps if the campers didn't have command latency.

the point being i've heard of this before (since 'incursion') but have not had the misfortune of dying to it yet. I can imagine its one reason to not use a ceptor for moving bpos.

Thats perfectly normal in low-sec incursions.

The Coreli Corporation is recruiting.

This is normal behavior for Lowsec and Nullsec incursion gate camps. Players can do it too with a properly sensor boosted ship (and a low latency). I've lost nano's fleet ceptors to these gate camps several times, as well as heavily tanked BC's that got instapointed and nuked before it could get anywhere close to the gate!

Some of the incursion rats have scan res in the mid thousands, and point capability.

So true. Be happy for this.

The ability for everyone and their allies to legally counter-gank mission invaders... yes please. Add a Suspect Flag for Mission Invasion
