As i have just resubbed after a few years playing other games, i was wondering if someone could answer how the different weapon systems compare today after Rubicon.

Are AC's still viable?
Lazors pew pew?
Torps?
Hybrids?

Well they still don't use cap, so I guess that's good?

Air condition (ac) is always good for the user but not for the environment. So think about global warming and stuff..

They're distinctively average now, partly because TE lost some falloff bonus and mostly because other weapons got buffed. Other faction's ships also got buffed while Minmatar pretty much stayed as is. It's not that they're BAD but all the good stuff Minnie had is now also mostly shared with others.

Like was previously mentioned. the other weapon systems have gotten some decent buffs the past year or so when compared with ACs.

Large lasers have had their cap use reduced somewhat which makes using them a bit less annoying.

Torps seem to have fallen out of favor, at least on the pve front, due to the nice buff cruises received last year.

I honestly know little about hybrid turrets but I think they got a slight bump in tracking... not certain though.

Hybrids got buffed quite a bit, medium rails are now borderline hilariously OP.

well, they kept their advantages, which is no capacitor and damage type selection. They lost a bit of falloff with the TE nerf and other stuff got buffed, so they're a bit less shiny than they used to be.

That's a fair assessment. It would also be fair to point out that you asked a pretty vague question essentially asking the community to fill you in on all the changes that have occurred in about a years time.

So, I could spend 20 minutes reading what changed over the last year and repost the most relavent to your questions or I could make a glib comment like others have.

Let's settle? I'll give you vague information in exchange for the vague question.
The bottom line is that all the weapons still have the same niche. Some are just more effective now than they were a year ago.
1. Blasters are more blasty and reload real quick like.
2. Small missiles are still the same but heavy missiles are not as effective as they were when you left.
3. Medium rails got some love.
4. (as mentioned) tracking enhancers are really what hit the minmattar race hard since they tend to use mids for tank and thus can't use the now (arguably) better tracking computer.
5. Mauraders are awesome but still too expensive to lose regularly in pvp.
6. (you didn't ask) but you should look into sensor strength compensation skills. They will help you out when you are getting jammed.
7. Interceptors are now awesome because they aren't affected by bubbles. Gangs of them are now beating up old ladies and hanging outside of convenience stores late at night.

Well, yes and no. Yes they were "too good" but every pro had their con. Minnie had speed but lacked tank, now everyone has speed, Minnie still lacks tank. Minnie was good at kiting, now "everyone" is fast and has buffed damage projection, suddenly minnie is the worst at kiting.

Balancing doesn't mean "punish the ones that were ahead" nor does it mean "make everything equal". Right now Minnie isn't really in a favourable spot for anything other than lol-1400.
