The Loki for PVE/Anoms instead of Tengu

Hey guys

Ok ive been doing alot of reading, watching alot of video's, and frankly people love the tengu for PVE and i get why. the range, the tank, the regen. is all pretty impressive

But im curious how the loki would do solo'ing a 10/10 site, if its capable.

i want to know more about the Loki's PVE capability because frankly i love the loki

Just sayin, you will probably get a larger sample of responses in the ships and modules forum rather than the NCQA forum. You're not a newbie and this isn't an newbie question. I vote Tengu, but I've never skilled a Loki. I think 10/10 is a little out of range for solo, but then I've never tried, myself. If it is soloable, they should fix that Smile
Google says yes, but it's current status I don't know as things change...

The loki does not have the same damage projection that the tengu does. Your missiles will reach much further which makes a big difference. There are other reasons, but for PVE purposes that makes a big difference in how long it takes you to finish missions.

Also, since your closer you have a greater chance of getting webbed to a stand-still which is a big problem since some of your tank ability relies on 'speed tanking.'

the only particular advantage a loki has is it can tank like the dickens vs em-shooting enemies while not being awful vs kin/therm. That's pretty much it. It lacks both damage projection and has mediocre dps even on paper.

The fit you posted looks mean for pvp, but is a joke for any kind of pve content outside the easiest lowsec plexes (some of which it is too big to enter). It completely lacks any kind of tank, its dps is incapable of doing most nullsec content and a fair amount of lowsec content (there are bosses/structures that will not die to less than 400dps). Also, mwd with fuel catalyst is a noob mistake, the fuel catalyst only affects afterburner speed.

When fit with a proper offensive subsystem the loki can improve its dps and projection issues but they'll still be on the mediocre side. Ultimately there will be a lot of content that it cannot solo.

Well the main reason for making this post is because personally. i want the Loki, its my dream ship, something about it just makes me shiver inside and its the ship i want persnally

But most of my friends keep giving me crap and say "go tengu first, its better at ratting and anoms" etc etc.

But personally i dont think the loki is THAT bad, like i mean, im sure it could hold its own in level 4's, anoms and rattingin nullsec, so i want to know if there's any loki lovers out there who can give me abit of insight on the loki's capability

Like i get the tengu its just. i prefer the loki personally

Sure it can, but its not going to do it in a covops fit. Or without a tank fitted.

oh ive realised that fit is more for pvp. ive been playing in EFT and looking up lots more specific PVE fits. such as 6 guns. not 4, cap stable. shield boost/resists and tracking/gyro's

this is the build i was looking at for a "starter" build. eventually everything would be upgraded to faction modules. and better rigs, this would just be a start

As a loki pilot for a very long time... The people saying its not great for PVE are both right and wrong. For solo you can do I believe a DED 6 solo without to much issue minus burning through tons of ammo due to average DPS (about 500ish with auto cannons). That said a Loki is a tough son of a gun in a pure tank role in DED 10 or c5 sleeper sites as your just meant to sit there and get wrecked. 99% of the time I sit back web/target paint stuff and allow the mobs to just slam on me while other ships RR and DPS the sites.

SO in short the Loki is just a Brick with EHP of 300k+ when fitted towards a specific faction such as EM/Therm vs sancha etc
