Ready to purchase another account for exploration. What's the fastest method to get a cloaky explorer setup?

Brand new account, Starter pack?

Thanks.

Buddy invite yourself is the best value.

You can train just the skills you want.

Consider spending the free plex on a 'Cerebral Accelerator' via contracts.

Get it off to a flying start.

Starter pack? That will only gain you a few days, the rest is junk.

Depends on the desired level of competency. Basic with a T1 frig ~30 days. Cov-ops T2 frig ~90 days. T3 Cov-ops or SOE Cruiser ~6 moths. T3 high-end plexing, much longer (guess 1 year good competency). Well the T3 levels are a guess, I have trained that but it was mixed training so not sure of a straight shoot without building a skill plan.

If basic, balanced attributes. If T2, more into int and memory. If T3 you will want to remap.

If buying from character bazaar, I'd add the training time, divide by PLEX cost and multiply the total by X2 for top buyout price (e.g. Basic explorer: 1 PLEX x2 = ~1.3bil estimated base buyout - not counting x2 PLEX transfer cost which you will need to factor into any character trade i.e. 2.6b total for the deal.)

Yes options, starter pack (worst deal for a vet), friend code, or wait for a power of 2 deal. Cheapest would be just to PLEX an extra training slot on the existing account. If you are scouting for your cap or pvp ship probing, yeah second account. Going for good T3 skills then second account and transfer it to your main account later perhaps. If just "exploring" and playing the new wonderful minigames.. heh ... an alt slot would seem reasonable and the cheapest way to go.

Then of course if you are going for ( <-- ) hardcore cov-op/black ops, second account and lots and lots of training time.

Thanks guys.

This will be a dedicated W-Space explorer.

Going with a dedicated 2nd account.

Yeah, you will then want to go for a T3 or equivalent (IMO). You can transfer it back into a single active account in about a year, or keep that account open and work on another alt if you feel a point of training completion. Easy enough to keep it open with PLEX working in j-space. You could probably benefit some from +5 implants, probably use a jump clone when active. Generally I'd advise against it early on, but training an alt account which is more inactive for training seems appropriate for early implants. I think you only benefit some six months of the first year factoring in training time of cyber V. Excellent profession choice and good for training it yourself to get the right name ;)

Except multiboxing, is there any real advantage of 2nd account over MCT? MCT seems more flexible in ways, i.e. once trained up you can simply stop plexing the alt and yet still have access to it.

Of course, you can't multibox it, though.

Oh, API key. Yeah ok, for some careers, I can see the advantage. But for exploration?

I ask because I am considering the same myself.

It's good to multi if you fly a capital, especially with a strong explorer/cov-ops/black-ops (covert jumps) though only one explorer skill required being astrometrics and then a cov-ops cloak, not even mentioning the ECM benefits if widow when moving small fleets. If you are flying a strategic cruiser (my suggestion for the OP in j-space) I don't see any problem with multi-boxing into combat, yes I see no real benefits beyond that. If just a frigate scout, mostly an edge for pvp if multi-boxing, but yeah you could still re-log. I have two characters and just one account, myself, though my alt is just a dedicated frig/destro combat pilot, however I wouldn't mind transferring him to another account and giving him a stealth bomber for support. imo the best benefit could be training on a separate account if paying by the year on that account.

It's cheaper. The subscription cost is lower than the cost of a PLEX, especially if you purchase a 6 or 12 month subscription.
