Haha, some of those are classic.

Pretty funny considering Cannabis is an ergolytic (work reducing) drug.

Not necessarily. Some sativas are positively speedy.

Well there's a peer reviewed article which contradicts your statement. I'd be very interested to see any evidence for cannabis increasing a human's mechanical work outputs.

I am pro-cannabis, just FYI. But it is science that Cannabis is an ergolytic drug.

Just one more - "does not have ergogenic potential in sports" - http://link.springer.com/article/10.2165/00007256-200333060-00001

Who said anything about increasing ? I certainly didn't.

But I have had sativas that have absolutely no drowsy or slow down affect at all. At best they maintain baseline, with no decrease or increase.

This I do know from 32 years of extensive and approved medical usage. I do know exactly what I'm talking about.

"Who said anything about increasing ? I certainly didn't." - my apologies, I think I read you wrong. If your position is that cannabis will be either ergolytic, or have no change in work output - then the TLDR version is "I agree".

Anecdotally, yes - I'll agree there are some strains which are uplifting, which can make you feel like getting up and doing something. The main sensation I experience is not extra energy for doing physical work, but a sensation that my brain is thinking in many different directions quickly.

To be fair there is some discussion of potential ergogenic effects of cannabis, and if these ergogenic effects are real - they haven't been demonstrated yet (at least not that I've seen). Unfortunately, in terms of scientific observations Cannabis is reported overwhelmingly as an ergolytic drug, I linked two peer-reviewed publications - this is not my opinion, this is what the body of scientific evidence reports.

I just want to comment - really my original comment was meant to highlight the irony of the two top teams coming from states where the ergolytic drug is widely available!

Peace, yo?

All I know is I prefer Sativas during the day for their lack of "drowsy" and slow-down. That's all.

I prefer to smoke Sativas as well during the day, but they are a pain to grow indoors, particularly the pure strains: they keep branching and growing, and growing, requiring to perform crafty tricks with strings to keep the branches in place, and not get too close to the lights. And they take forever to mature as well

Indicas on the other hand are so much better behaved, a pleasure to grow indoors: they branch very little once they start flowering, remain short, condensed and stout, and take the shortest amount of time to mature. Though indeed, they are not such a smart choice if you want to stay productive during the day...

Yuppers. The outlets in California were always short of the pure sativas. The yield per square yard is so much less than Indicas. At least the prices matched though.

Not a bit ironic that the easiest to grow indoors is the one that will slow you down and the one that is better to grow outdoors, which requires 'more', is the one less likely to slow you down.

I smoked Indica after I got out of the Corps... only thing that helped with my massive insomnia.

Also helpful when there is just too much food in the house

Yup. And none of that chemical hangover yuck the next morning from sleeping pills.

Melatonin is good for insomnia, for me at least. Very mild, no prescription needed. It doesn't knock you out like sleep medication does. It just makes you slightly drowsy for a few minutes, to help push you over the edge.
