New Eden Open II Silent Auction

Hello everyone! Signups are now closed for the NEO II and we are ready to begin the silent auction.

We have a total of 46 eligible teams signed up at this time. Since our defending champions Asine Hitama's Team are returning, they are claiming their guaranteed spot which means that there are 45 teams that will be competing for the 28 spots available in the silent auction.

The definition of an eligible team at this time is a team that has at least 8 members and has paid their 5 plex deposit.
The majority of teams currently have more than the maximum of 12 members on their roster, which means that they will need to cut their roster down to 12 at a later point. We will be in contact with the team captains to ensure they are able to reduce their teams to size.

Silent Auction Process:
Captains of teams that are signed up can send their bid to the character 'CCP Alliance Tournament' to try and secure a spot in the tournament. Once you have submitted your bid via EVEmail to CCP Alliance Tournament, you put up a contract assigned to the character with the amount of PLEX you bid. Only then will your entry into the silent auction be accepted. The 5 PLEX used to sign up will then be added to your bid, to make the final amount of PLEX you bid towards a spot.

The teams with the highest 28 bids during this silent auction will win the 28 tournament spots.

If your bid secures you a spot in the tournament at the end of the silent auction, the contract will be accepted and you will be notified via EVEmail. After the silent auction ends, there will be a random draw for the last 3 spots in the tournament where those teams that didn't secure a spot have a chance to get in.

Teams that still have pending invites and/or have more than 12 members in their team after the silent auction ends, will be contacted to finalize the roster. Any characters that did not have an invite before downtime on the 20th of January are not eligible to participate.

As a reminder, your bid must be a number of PLEX. You can not just specify an ISK amount. Also remember, the silent auction ends at downtime on the 23rd of January so get your bids in!

Do the plex need to be contracted all from the same station, or is it okay to contract them from multiple stations (which I think would also mean multiple contracts)?

A few hours ago, they "corrected" the end time of the auction back out to 23:59:59 (as posted in the original dev blog). So, auction's still open. My best guess is we'll find out tomorrow...

how long are you gonna keep extending the silent auction deadline? My team, some former alliance tournament finalists got up early, prepared in advance to transfer the plexes so that we could make out bid.

it is completely unfair to allow the silent auction to extend past the deadline.

the idea of silent auction already has a component of scam in it.

this is ridiculous my team works hard to put together their **** and what CCP doing?

And I dont know if Tuskers have entered the NEOII but please someoneplease take over this. Tuskers have run nice frig tournys in the past, privitization is gonna be the best solution here if CCP gonna play these kind of games which smell of corruption and scamming to sell moar plexes.

I could be wrong, but I believe that tweet was in reference to streaming of the actual tournament, not the drawing for the last few spots on the roster.

EDIT: Confirmed, that tweet was about streaming the matches, not the auction results/random draw. CCP_Bro replied to my tweet asking for clarification.

when can we expect the list of teams that got in the tourny?

I believe u guys have more than one team that submitted the same amount of plx's for the same spot if so i suggest you do a live auction only for thow's teams who are fighting for the last spot and be done whit it
