Instead of a skillbook I think they should add Eve Sims. This way when I'm in autopilot I can pay fake bills or watch my pilot bathe in a tub.

Why I think this is a good Idea: Many traders and players who use autopilot I think will like to use Eve Sims.

Skill Books that enhance "being away from keyboard" rather than at it would greatly increase my chance of unsubbing

First: This must be a stealth 'buff AFK play' thread.

Second: Why the hell are you not posting in the F & I Thread specially designed for stuff like this?????

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

what i'd rather is something like a "ftl navigation accuracy skill"

You know some stations where you click warp to zero, but you still have to burn a few thousand meters before actually being able to dock? Wouldnt it be excellent if such a "ftl navigation accuracy" skill allowed you to hit warp to 0 and dock immediately, or even the slightly simpler basic "dock"

say every lvl shaves off a percent chance of being out of range on a dock, or a precise target (basically anything out of instant usage range of the warp target object - station gates anything) with lvl 5 being a 100% chance of instant in-range status. The skill would have to be like a rank 5 or 6 at least, so that maxing it still takes -some- small effort.

The big problem would be that most the stations with such warp to 0, burn to dock is something to do with this collision boxes or soemthing and might not be easy to overcome

....not really sure where I'm going with this, but just want to say this is a TERRIBAD idea and the OP really should play the game instead of looking for ways to make it easier to AFK.

Any skill or function that promotes AFK-behaviour is bad, period.

In light of this I would instead suggest to remove auto-repeat on all forms of mining lasers.

So at level 5 you want ships to warp to 12.5 km instead of 15 km?
Not really sure why you're asking for that.

Would give a small boost to freighter pilots.

Frighters accelerate so slowly that the difference would be meaningless.

Skill is pointless if you wish to protect against... Well, anything. Also pointless if you want to make anything appreciably faster. In fact, it's just pointless. Period.

So it's pointless to train all or any of the +5% navigation skills, because the freighter is so slow it's still going to be slow even with the skills...

THAT is a MASSIVELY obvious strawman, there. Nice fallacy, couldn't possibly be more blatant, old man.

Your comment is also ignorant of mechanics; Either because you're ignorant of the game mechanics, or because you've delibertely ignored them, I not entirely certain. Based upon what your fallacy though, I know which way I'm leaning.

BUT - Presuming you merely need an education, here: The nav skills affect every class of ship, and affect speed over ANY distance. The proposed skill in the OP does exactly one thing: At max skill level, it extends autopilot jumps by 2.5 km. Which distance is negligible no matter WHAT your Nav skills may be, and which distance is completely pointless at preventing any kind of bad act, or accelerating travel by any more than a tiniest fraction. Nav skills, on the other hand, have percentage bonuses, which not only affect *every* distance, but also stack.

Learn the game. Or at least learn that if you put up strawmen, I'm going to set them on fire.

It doesn't matter if your freighter's anus lands 15km from the gate or 12.5, it had better be prepared.

This skill seems alright to me. People can train it if they like, or not. I'd even support increasing the "warp to" distance from 500m to 1km per level.
