What is going on with Exploration?!?

Before Rubicon, i could go out and spend 45 minutes and come back with anywhere from 30mil to 70mil. Now i spend 3 hours and don't find anything. Not one single data or relic site. Just combat sites and wormholes. This is really beginning to bug me.


I mean. The data and relic sites in wormhole space are showing up just fine, no problems there, but in a helios, i'm not even about to think about going for them, what with sleepers. But when i go through 7 nullsec systems, i should find AT LEAST one data or relic site. These aren't like 0.0 nullsec systems either. these are -0.3 to -.06 systems.

I don't know what CCP did to exploration, but they REALLY need to fix it. Exploration used to be my main source of income, now i spend days looking for even one data or relic site. I've already filed some support tickets, but apparently, they were ignored.

Has anyone else been having this issue?

Have you tried taking a trip to low/null-sec, i have no problems with finding data/relic sites i low-sec.

The area you are in now might just to to crowded with other explores, try going somewhere else.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

I believe it's simply down to an increase of players doing exploration. Ever since Rubicon, I noticed alot more people chattering about exploration & their found spoils. So can be down to that, more people, harder to find sites.

Strange. The cloak scout/explorer on my 2nd account hasn't noticed any difference at least in Placid or Syndicate.

I'm sure if they made a change it would have been across all systems, but the data and relic sites still seem to be there in the same abundance from what I've been doing (only about 25% of the time involved in exploration and the rest in pvp on that account).

That's a logical explanation, but every single time i've tried exploration since Rubicon, this is how it's been. And i'm from Barleguet, so i'd have stuck to lowsec if there was anything there.

Not only that, but i check Dotlan when i go into systems and half of them say no jumps within at least a day. But this has happened in every nullsec system i've popped my head into. Which is now 10 systems, still nothing but wormholes and combat sites.

I used to call my Tengu "**** RNG" because I kept getting Dread Guristas spawns that would only drop tags and ammo.

You need to stop following other explorers, especially if you are slow at scanning.

Yeah, i'm starting to think that. I've never gone 15 systems in a row and found nothing. Usually, it's a combined 15 systems from different regions, lol.

But still, something changed after Rubicon. Whether that change is less exploration sites or more explorers. Methinks explo ganking might be the way to go now, lol. Cloak up at a data or relic site and gank anyone that comes by, then steal their loot, lol.

I once entered 90 systems (112 jumps if I recall including reverses) without finding a ded complex. It takes someone good 15 minutes to clear a relic and a data, so all you are doing is following someone an hour ahead of you.

If you are in syndicate you are literally waiting for people in fountain and outer ring and whatever to send them back.

I had the same problem, went through about 50 nullsec systems, literally, and found very few data sites, maybe one relic site, after all that, the rewards were, pathetic, given up on exploration altogether.

ps, losec data/relic site rewards are even worse...

After Rubicon launched, tier3 Battlecruisers didn't show on my overview and had to be manually added again.

I don't really explore but is it possible some setting somewhere has reverted so that kind of sig isn't showing for you?

Seems weird ur the only one, 15 empty systems in a row and everyone else has noticed no change.

See, that's how i feel. But then, one of my corpmates said he just found 4 sites in one system. So i'm just like wtf. I really like explo, but goddamn, lol.

I can hardly move for all the exploration sites in lowsec. There are hundreds of them in each system! Well, almost hundreds.

The issue isn't with sites spawning. It's purely to do with the fact that there are more "bears" in null sec than there is in high sec these days. Coalitions full of bears dude and they are raping the easy stuff because they don't like the hastle of spending 30mins+ in combat site.

Minimum effort, maximum profit. Word!
