The best way I can describe news is it's like one of those "Based on a true story" movies. If it's a movie about a boy that got hit by a car the boy actually got hit by a car but everything else was made up and added for dramatization purposes.

The last gasp of 'objective' news on TV was when the FCC ended its requirement that all networks and stations had to air a certain manditory amount of 'news and information' every day. That put the news shows on a paying basis, and once the networks realized that you could make $$$ off of the news, all objectivity went out the door. News is entertainment.
