I ask the same question about men staring at their male toons' backside.

I am wondering whether it is a sign of homosexuality to have an avatar of the same sex. After all, you have to look at the Avatar quite a lot and thus it seems reasonable to assume that heteros would chose an Avatar of the other sex.

Or it just might be possible that the choice of an Avatar has nothing to do with sexuality.

However, the choice of an Avatars name is connected to intelligence as are forum threads.

Is it seriously that important to so many people what others do sexually?

Sometimes one can wonder if we realy have come out of the dark-ages....

the answer is:

to look at big tittays or buttays.

tadaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Or just.. you know. It's a game, we were given an option and we pick it up.

I think that OP has some issues with his sexuality and wants a confirmation.

It's ok if you're gay/straight/trans/bi/asex/pony mate.

No, but interesting question :).

Funny that the first three replies are female avatars XD.

So Altrue, basically you're saying that want to pretend to be a woman.

Doesn't that strike you as an indicator, at least in some cases, for homosexual tendencies?

And you base this assertation on what exactly?

Actually i would suggest that the ones who find it disturbing and/or wrong are the ones who have anxiety over their sexual identity.
I refer you to Mr Putin who pretends to be rapidly homophobic whilst doing photoshoots that look like he is trying to get into the village people.
In any case why would you make a leap from female avatar to homosexual when transgender would surely be the route to go in your outlet of prejudice?
as a side note the majority of cross-dressors are heterosexual.
as a further side note why do you think this matters in any way whatsoever? sexual preference is hardly something that says anything about a person character.

Both these quotes hit the hammer on the head...

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

Real life friend of mine plays this game with a male character and she's not into girl on girl action. So no, I don't think it's a sign. I think it's more a matter of preference. Then again I could be wrong.

I'm going to assume some numbers but I believe they are close to the truth.
5% belongs to the fist (CCP devs likes to do that I noticed :D)
5% belongs to the second.
90% belongs to the third category. In this case you can say that your avatar is also a character. Big smile

I'd be worried if 5% of the player base were CCP devs. Lol

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Troll/10 but anyway...

The term homosexual is historically recent. In the time of Juvenal, people were considered passive or active in such matters. Translating the New Testament closely we see some harsh words directed at catamites, those who go against their nature for gain and also condemnation of people who'll just get up to anything. No mention of men who are good with colors, however.
Your tension about this stems from diseased social programming and an abundance of food.

Based on the OP's ... logic, as my character has red hair I must long to be a ginger irl.

No, more liukely sign of sexual maturity ans being well assured of masculinity. Someone that fels like you on other hand is clearly much closer to falling to the other side since you prooved to not be safe enough about your identity.

For me, it's a habit I have picked up in other MMORPGs.

If I have to stare at a butt during most of my playtime, it better be a pretty one.

So there you go. Habits die slowly (if at all).
