hey guys,

good friend of mine want to play eve now and he is using a macbook pro.

he allready downloaded the game 3 times now, but everytime he wants to start the game after installation it says, files r damaged and it gives him the oportunity to either cancel or put it into garbage.

i found another topic where it says to allow download from identified partner also in gatekeeper but that didnt help.

anyone an idea?

best regards

only a workaround...

open a terminal window, copy and paste this in (assuming your eve client is in the same location)

open -n /Applications/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE\ Online.app/

This will run multiple clients if you use the cursor up.

I've logged a support ticket, taken 8 days for them to initially respond though, so I recommend you do too. The more tickets they see, the more they can see are affected.

PS, I'm running 15" MBP 2013 retina with Mavericks

Hi,

same problem here. After download and copying my Mac Book Pro says the file is damaged. I have the choice to cancel or to put it into garbage.

Dont understand the workaround of the second poster. Before I can do that, i must have a proper eve installation, otherwise i can't look into the eve package. Or do I understand this wrong.

Cheers

Found a solution: go to security settings in preferenes on your mac and make sure that you DONT restrict your mac to mac apps and certified partners (dont know the exact phrase, there are three checkboxes select the "no restriction" box)

Murdock4711 has it. The exact steps are:

1) launch System Preferences;

2) choose Security & Privacy;

3) where it says, Allow apps downloaded from, choose 'Anywhere;'

4) launch EVE;

5) back in the Security & Privacy pane, choose 'Mac App store and identified developers,' or just 'Mac App Store' if that's the only place you get your apps;

6) close System Preferences.

This way, the Mac will remember to make an exception for EVE, and you'll still get the non-trivial security protection of the two settings that prevent any random executable from running on your machine.

+1000!

Murdock4711's diagnosis was spot on...
Dersen Lowery's instructions are exactly what you need to do...

Thanks so much! Was very frustrated until I saw this post!

I had this same issue. I am installing right now. hopefully it works. I bet this is why i had to uninstall the game in the first place. I updated the game after taking a few months off but i bet it never installed the patch and that is why i kept freezing after i undocked.
