I was involved in a particularly brutal mugging last year

I got an iPod and a mobile phone so it was worth it.

The majority of the comments for that article sound exactly like the carebear whine threads/posts we see on these forums. Makes me wonder.

Quite a different response from your commentary in the Tornado thread. What?

I'm not going to say you are lying in that particular paragraph. Cheating on taxes has quite a bit of deterrents in most countries, and it is entirely possible to go through life without getting into trouble with the law.
I would challenge you to re-examine the first statement. If you are human, and if you are older than maybe 1 or 2 years, it is a fact of life that you, and everyone else, have hurt others at some point.
Perhaps you have no record of physically hurting someone, but emotional distress counts as well.

However, if you do not consider it possible to hurt someone emotionally ("hurt feelings"), then some people might rightfully accuse you of being mal-adjusted, or, at the very least, coldly insensitive.

The problem in relation to the linked article is that we live in a society that has raised people to have a mindset of looking for ways to be hurt or offended. In the USA, that has been cultivated as a means of financial gain. With a certain percentage of lawyers who are willing to take risks on frivolous cases, people have now found a way to make money off of being hurt.

I'm rarely offended, if at all. Being offended is a choice. Being hurt may not be so much of a choice as it may be in the realm of natural human reaction. In your view regarding human nature, do you agree, and if not why*?

*I promise I won't change your quotes again, even if it is supposedly to save face. P I *would* like a reasonable debate on this one.

Wait, wut? I think I'm rather consistent in the views I advocate, but if you have exceptions to point out, please do so.

*Stuff*

Okay, fine, I've never intentionally hurt someone else in a physical manner.

I don't always emotionally hurt people, but when I do, I make sure to make up for it with a passionate hair metal song.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

I posted the following comment at that article:

I actually support the little guy.

ANYONE in this day and age ignorant enough to leave windows or doors unlocked deserves exactly what 'happens' to their belongings.

They should be jailed for idiocy, and endangering any children who were in the house.

I think you're on to something. It's clear to me!

Carebears are well-adjusted human beings who foolishly try to apply real world ethics when playing EVE.

Those article comments are so one-sided. Not one single person congratulated that clever thief!

Maybe we should add a few comments to the article to even things up. Just off the top:

umadbro?

can i haz ur stuff?

well played, sir!

homeowner tears are the sweetest tears!

you seem to have problems distinguishing between computer games and Real Life. Computer games are exactly what they say they are 'games' real life is something differently entirely. You sir are a total idiot/ troll if you think the burgler needs defending in this situation- especially by placing comments like 'well played, sir!'
such a ******** argument- needs to be posted in 'out of pod' forums instead tbh

LOL. And you, Sir, seem to have problems distinguishing humour from seriousness.

Also, 'burgler' you say? Is that someone who steals hamburgers?

If you do not protect it, it is up for grabs. That being said, if someone is caught with their hands on stolen property then they are also up for grabs, or worse if caught on the property where the belongings came from.
