Why did you remove the tracking camera activation checkbox from DScan window? Now instead of 1 click I'll have to do 2 clicks which is not an improvement in my opinion. Can we get it back

Edit: Why is it important you may ask? Because ever half second more i spend on clicking stuff the more time ratters has to escape. This is another nerf to pirat

just no! instead of clicking you just press 'c' now. no increase in clicks.
loving the change, and hoping that i can set v-sync to intervall one again.

TIL there's a hotkey to toggle tracking mode. \o/

This is a great change.

Or you just press "C" and avoid clicking altogether???

Lovely change Piratecorns! Thank you for the great work.

The greatest improvement to the tracking camera you could make it is to hellpurge it from the game entirely

Unless this has changed, pressing "c" just sets it to the custom tracking camera, not the "centered" camera which is what is useful with d-scan.

Ok why not!
AS LONG AS you do not make the damned pointer reset to the center of your radial menu when we release left clic after using it. Like it was the case in the early days of the radial scanning menu.

I thought it sets it back to the last used setting/position. If that's not the case, it should be.

Great stuff.

EVE's camera functionality is a pet interest of mine and I'm always delighted to see more/improved tools in the hope that you're secretly working toward a suite of controls to benefit tournament coverage and machinima directors.

I'm updating my SiSi client now with a view to providing some feedback.

Confirming that selection of custom or centered mode persists.

Does the camera still reset to a default zoom when selecting a new target? If so please change that. Also, after you jump a gate, the camera should go back to the zoom factor that you were at before you jumped the gate.

I would like an option to always lock the camera to face directly in front of your ship as it would help for manual flight. The function would work best if it were tied to a toggle key stroke.

While you are working with the camera, is it possible to add at least 2-3 second delay before camera resets when focus object is destroyed? It's a major bummer in things like alliance tournament when ship dies and camera instantly resets to cloaked observer ship while viewers were expecting spectacular explosion.

This!

Explosions are there to be enjoyed. Allowing the camera to linger for a moment would be a great inclusion to this update.

After a short session of zipping around outside a station in an interceptor, I can report the tracking looks fantastic and allowed me to admire the newly V3'd station skins in all their glory. It was smooth and the radial menu works as a far better solution than the fiddly little dropdown which preceded it.

I noted a couple of minor things though:

  • I found it very easy to inadvertently lose my tracking focus target when double clicking in empty space to change ship direction, causing the camera to revert to focusing on my ship (could this be due to invisible station bounding boxes?).

  • Whilst the tracking camera is active, using the radial menu to select the 'look at my ship option' causes the camera to revert to a view of my ship which differs from the 'look at my ship' view when the tracking camera is inactive. Is this intentional?

  • When the tracking camera is used in conjunction with the Camera Centre slider (Esc menu), my ship often disappears off screen if any deviation above 50% from centre is selected (on my default resolution of 1920x1080). This effect is less noticeable or negated entirely by using 3840x1080 resolution across two monitors, with my ship remaining on-screen even with 90-100% deviation from centre.

I hope this helps.

Is the "Use Tracking Camera" option going to be left in the directional scanner window? I for one found it quite useful to have a quick option to use the tracking camera next to my scanning button.
