Love this game and I want to create alt account, but what to do with it?

I will be doing manufacturing, PI, trading, invention, scanning and even some pvp (stealth bomber) with this character. But what I should do with second account?

I will not have time to grind ISK. That is for sure, my day time job takes too much time. So everything like missioning, mining, ratting, and exploration are out of the question.

PVP alt could be it, but would second account be more usefull if it could support my business?

I don't understand this. Are you saying that you don't need a 2nd account but want it?

Your reverse question is to reverse for me.

2nd acc should at least be able to fly a Freighter. If not anything else Logistics is a b**ch in EVE.

No I just thought that I might be able to explore more of this great game by having two different characters in different acconts. I took that steam offer and I started new account. But I'll figure out something fun Big smile

I would suggest on your main account, use the other character slots to be able to do a minimal amount of industry, so at least copy and research BP's.

On your second account do the reverse, focus on training industry for all three, but take some time to train some minimal combat skills on one toon.

PI, Research and Manufacturing all have hard limits per character, you want to spread those skills around between toons, with combat your want to try and get a lot of skills on one character.

What do you do with your main? The best use for an alt is something that supports an activity you are doing already. So if your main is about killing people train up your alt to fly a logistics ship, if you're a miner train up an orca alt.

Alternatively you can use it to do something completely different from what you are currently doing.

Seconded. If you are going to do indutry having a supply logistics alt is pretty darned useful.

90% of of the time my posts are about something I actually find interesting and want to learn more about. Do not be alarmed.

My first alt is my shadow. He generally goes everywhere I do. His job is to make my life easier.

To give you ideas, here's some of my shadow's abilities, roughly in the order trained:

0. Hauler (Bestower pilot until Orca trained).
1. Salvager (originally a Coercer then a Hurricane, but now a Noctis).
2. Orca pilot.
3. Trade (retired, as I have another alt for that now).
4. Fleet booster: mining, shield, armor.
5. Exhumer pilot (ore and ice harvesting).
6. Ferox pilot, for gas harvesting.
7. Charon freighter pilot.
8. Transport pilot: Bustard and Crane.
9. Research (10 slots) and Manufacturing (10 slots).
10. Rorqual pilot.
11. Rhea jumpfreighter pilot.
12. PI.
13. Hacking and Archeology (he uses a Hurricane for these).

Still yet to train (order yet to be determined):

* Logistics.
* Carrier.
* POS Gunner.

My shadow doesn't have any weapon skills other than drones. So far at least.

You should not buy a new acct and then decide what to do with it. That makes no sense.

What you need to do is wait until you identify something that you need to do that cannot be done reasonably with one character and then create and alt to fill the gap.

I tell you this as someone who has up to six active accts at any one time. I don't just open a new acct because I can. I do it because my characters tend to be focused for one thing and when I need to do another thing I train up another character.

But it seems you went ahead and bought one so I'll tell you what I'd do.

Park it until you need it for something. Train base skills only for now. You'll need them no matter what you do with him in the future and you are not tying him to a career path you will regret. There is an easy couple of months worth of training before you even need to think about whether you should go combat, mining or industry.

This game is not a race. You don't plan days or weeks ahead, you plan months and even years. So no rush. Take your time with this second acct. Think it out and use it when needed. Not use it just because you have it.

I have two acc and I'm glad to share how my alts doing and where:

ACC1
- <- this char is my main, PvP & PI (nullsec)
- PI & Cyno (lowsec)
- PI & Cyno (lowsec)

ACC2
- "main alt", logistics, scanner, capitals, invention, industry, PI (nullsec)
- PI & Cyno (lowsec)
- trader, freighter, capital construction (hisec)

I found these enough for most of my needs.

(edit: also, in nullsec it is nice when my main runs missions and my alt is in a Falcon nearby, scouting or just ready to save me if something goes wrong.. just in case)

As I remember first need was to have a scout on the 2nd acc, next is to feed the 2nd acc with isk. and with the cyno alts + capitals, freedom finally came to move stuff whereever my heart desires.
