I find it kinda hillarious that people actually accept this. I wasnt in HED but i feel sorry for the people who where. How can this server performance be justified when you have to pay a monthly subscription? All those trailers adverting large fleet fights are then fake. Im not a old seasoned pilot but considering that the game has beeing released in 2003 you could expect that this lagfest and bugs wouldnt happend.

There is not a single game that can even handle 4000 people in a system. hell half that and its still hugely impressive.

It depends what you define as "large." I was in a several hundred ship brawl just days ago on an unreinforced node with minimal/no lag/tidi. There are also recent instances of 1000ish ship brawls in tidi that worked as it was supposed to. I can't think of any other game where that would be possible.

Yes it would be nice if we could slug it out in 2000v2000 battles without lag and crashes but its not yet possible. People forget that it wasn't that long ago that a mere few hundred ships in the same system was totally unplayable.

Heres hoping CCP continues development into ways to make big fights more manageable. I hope "brain in a box" helps with that, and I hope they work on a strategy to reduce the load caused by drone calculations.

I agree with the message at the end of the video.

'I think we can all agree, this wans't a fight'
You're right. It was a slaughter. You were the fools who cyno'd onto us at zero knowing what we had on grid.

Alright I feel like I have to say something here. Everyone on this forum is basically screaming; "**** CCP They can't make their game right" and "Its all their fault a 10 year old game shouldn't have this issue!"

Do I have to remind you that there is not -one- other 3D game that is capable of loading 4000 players in a battle? Hell, even 1000 players? Have you read the specs of CCP's servers?

It's not like streaming a pre-recorded movie to 4000 individual people, it's much more complex I assure you. Hardware specs simply wont allow it - this isn't something you can simply wish into existence. Once the hardware comes out, I'm sure the game expierence will get even better.

But then again 5 years down the road when we're getting 8000 player battles and monsterious on-grid lag people will be screaming "Why isn't this FIXED YET?!"

Aw cmon now you're just whining because your little stunt didnt crash the node and give you system control. It stayed up and your ****** choice became your nightmare.

Yep, since 6VDT handled over 4k ships and this was the Jita node (so mega-reinforced) it was clear that 3700 people would be too much... or not.

And what's the alternative by the way? Shoot through an entire supercap fleet with a handful of frigates? The servers should support the players playing it. If they can't it's a failing on CCPs side and they need to fix it. It's that simple.

I'm sure CCP would be quite happy if you would provide the multi-million dollars necessary to make it all possible.

Realistically, if the soft cap were 5000, then the coalitions would bring 5000 people into a system for a fight. As it surpassed 6000, the blocs would bring 6000. The only way to "realistically" keep people from whining like this is to have the hardware necessary to support several tens of thousands of players, their drones, their everything, in one system on one grid.

That, however, would be absolutely cost-prohibitive.

Once upon a time, problems like this happened at 500 players. Now, it's happening at 4000. It will continue to happen as time and tech improve until absolutely every member of a bloc coalition are able to be in the same system at the same time, and even then, someone's going to whine about something (probably the state of Local chat).

And yes, were sorry CFC your little node crash game backfired and you took it up the a s s.

Because that is exactly what they were trying to do. Crash the node, break up the wreaking-ball and scatter them all over the system and take them out when they are logging back in.

Oh, noes, it got turned around and CFC were the ones that got broken up and scattered and ran and logged off before they loaded into system, and crying, and crying, and crying.

Didn't they lose over 350 dreads?

I think most of the dreads lost were Russian owned, I could be wrong. My theory is that GSF actually set up the Russians and handed them over on a silver platter to N3/PL. Not that N3/PL didn't play their cards right. After everything settles, there is going to be more renters looking for a home, and guess who will benefit :D
