Anyone tried the next release on the test server?

Mind to tell us this "configuration switch"? You know, for us command line freaks who love putting dash-dash switches everywhere!

Please!

Pretty please!

Check my fluttering eyelashes to see if I'm serious!

What about if you don't use the Launcher? I run the exe directly so is there an argument I can add to the run path to force DX9?

While dreaming of command line switches, wondering if we will ever see a "--opengl" one.

You know, like that other barely successful 2004 game... That World Of Warsomething...

When you bypass the launcher it runs in DX9. It seems that atm switching to DX11 requires you to use a switch instead of it being default and I seriously hope it remains that way for a very long time.

The launcher detects DX9 automatically but crashes. The second time I run the launcher it downloads and applies the latest patch. On the character select screen I notice rather quickly that there is no character portrait even after clearing the cache, same ingame. CQ is still broken, but station spinning and ship flying still work.

Slackware64-14.0, Nvidia 325.15, wine 1.7.5

I have a fruit cup and I'm not afraid to use it.

The test server doesn't have character portrets unless you explicitely made one over there.

I wondered if that was the case. It looks like no surprises tomorrow. Still I'm putting something long in the training queue.

Ok, now the launcher goes to sleep when downloading the the SISI patch and spikes one of my cores to 200%. Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Yes, after struggling with getting the patche(s) installed, I logged on late. So no time to get to FD-MLJ .

I did fly around a bit and spotted a most peculiar jump from Eletta to Luse. It took what seemed to be forever but was probably in the region of 30 to 40 seconds. On finally getting to Luse there were visual distortions, it looked like I was viewing everything through a fish-eye lens. The overview was blank but the route was still there so I did manage to jump to Eukenbiron. I had no problems coming back.

Yeah, like all the games from, who was it? Actiblizzar? Always had a great performance in wine, I haven't tried D3 though.

I think there's no interest on doing so. It's a shame, coz it would be almost as good as having a native client.

There is actually a fallback built-in for the more recent test version. The problem was just that Sisi was reverted to an older build which didn't have the fallback but already understood the configuration switch passed on from the launcher.

It runs fine fo me. I just wanted to take a moment to say "Thanks" for looking in on Linux users. I understand why CCP doesn't want to support a linux client and I'm genuinely thankful that we're at least given unofficial support.

It would be nice but it would be a huge allocation of programming resources, and honestly, aren't CCP staff stretched thin enough with one game's player base financially supporting two others in development (WoD, Valkyrie) and whatever Dust is now (Does Dust actually make money???)

I'm hoping the World of Darkness gets released before I get so old dementia sets in and I forget all the clans and their powers and how much I miss the smell of clove cigarettes. That's the vaporware CCP project I'm backing :D.

It looks doubtful that I'll be able to be on sisi during the mass test. I did try it just now and it looks hopeful.
