Gosh! Another bunch of losers believing in conspiracy theories. New player have just come here and he wants to buy large ship. Sure! He must be an "alter-ego-troll-account"! Watch out! Troll! Pathetic... Sad

Maybe ask your questions in a new thread with a relevant title? More likely to get answers that way than burying your question 2 pages deep in a completely unrelated thread.

If you state your intend to spend $400 on a game you know hardly anything about, you should not wonder to see disbelieve coming your way.

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

I read about jump clones but I'm not exactly sure if I interpret it correctly.
Or do I have to do the jump all the way to get the ship I want thing?

Kayla, it is a bad idea to post a brand new question inside a running thread, which topic is a different question.

But to say something about this short:
This is one of the biggest bad things in EvE. You need to move your ships from one place to another with many, many jumps.
Or deposit a jump clone and a special set of ships at different places.
Set up a courier contract with your ships and modules to move to another place.
And hope someone like to fill the contract and haul your items in a senseful time frame...

Do the tutorials - you'll receive several frigates, a destroyer and two industrials.

No need to be buying anything yet.

You will probably get a handout for obliquely asking on the forums (-1 for that), I'd encourage you to also do the tutorials. The EVE user interface (UI) is not intuitive.

There is a tremendous amount of literature about the game and a bunch of posts in the Warfare & Tactics or Missioning sub-forums that can give you advice on ships.

A new player going to the Character Bazaar and buying a high-level pilot character and a high-skill ship is about as sensible as someone who just got his driving license buying a Formula 1 racer and expecting to be able to effectively compete in a Grand Prix race.

To put it more simply: don't.

The skill progression queue is there for a reason. You learn the basics in small, affordable, easily-replaceable ships, and graduate to heavier hitters bit by bit. If you take out a ship without understanding the fundamentals of how it does what it does, knowing its strengths and weaknesses, and how to exploit the former and mitigate the latter, the most likely result is that your hideously expensive ship and your ludicrously expensive character will get torn to pieces in your first engagement.

Oh, and any corporation worth its salt will ask not what equipment you've got in your hangar, but what skills you can bring to bear. And they won't necessarily be skills you can find in the skill sheet, either.

OK. Tomorrow I will search for the best Marauder type and its pilot on the Bazaar. Big smile

Okay. I will watch for the tear thread how your Marauder got blown up because you never LEARNED how to play the game.

Ooh and in the troll folder the name goes. As from the responses...either a troll or someone who just doesnt want to listen to good advice (bigger isnt better + do the damn tutorials and learn with small and cheap stuff).

I remember the Ferraris, but not the buying-CCP thing. Then again, somebody with more money than sense buying a Ferrari is probably the cause of more wrecked Ferraris than anything else...

Maybe...perhaps....because you clearly dont listen to good advice or at least dont show that in the replies (the latter one can of course be the case as written talext stuff always lacks the non-verbal and underlying emotional stuff and thus can easily be misinterpreted).

Why people react like it...because its just the general troll that tries the same. To use a real example, when you just get into car racing you dont immediately jump into Formula 1.

Hi, there!

I boarded EVE on-line a hour ago and now I have only capsule. I'd like to purchase far better starship but I am not sure which one is best suited for me. I prefer combat career in the EVE Universe so I am looking for combat spaceships. After reading Evelopedia several classes are close to my wishes: Recon Cruisers, Heavy Assault Cruisers, Strategic Cruisers, Marauders, Black Ops Cruisers, Dreads and Carriers. What class could you advice me to purchase?

Coming in late, but, why did/do you only have a capsule? There's a bald lady with a soothing voice to tell you how to get a rookie ship right when you load up the game. You're not going to learn anything by reading about how awesome strategic cruisers are and not bothering to learn how to fly a frigate. Yeah, I'm just repeating what everyone else has said, I know.

nah-nah don't get all offended, it happens here. Well not so much in Q&A, but out there in especially like GD it happens often. People have multiple characters/alts that you don't know who they are connected to and some have multiple accounts and post with them to start trouble too. Some people like having a lot of fun on the forums, troll, make crazy posts, agree with themselves using other characters, all sorts of stuff. So it's not you, just the nature of these forums. But you're not one of those, not yet at least heh

And it's not about "new player", it's just the way you came across as a new player, a bit out of the norm. Been posting in here off and on for a few years, you start to realize all the questions are about the same, answers can about be saved for copy and paste later. Putting yourself outside the norm makes you a suspect here hehe. Yeah, it's that bad of an idea to buy a character so early in the game. You are a pirates wet dream! And about passing on a capital ship because you cant fly it safe in high sec, well no place in this game is safe apart from maybe the basic newbie areas where CCP will punish people trying to gank the newbies. So both points, just makes this sort of a hilarious thread, especially since you are seeming to resist veteran advice. But, if you haven't biomassed yet, maybe a good sign, many have for lesser reasons, you might learn a thing or two in time.

I keep ships in the areas I anticipate using them.

If I would use the same fit in more than one place - I just get more than one of that ship, because I'm not silly enough to fly anything overly expensive.

Interceptors let me move from one staging location to another. (Use a shuttle if you don't have skills for Interceptors).

So I was molested by bunch of alter-account trolls in this thread? Interesting!

That's why I do not want to fly capital ships outside high-sec space. I only aim to buy warships capable to stay in high-sec space all the time. Anyway:

Yes the Machariel is a good ship. However, you need to train for the smaller stuff first. That way you have the right support skill to fly it. And a Machariel alone is near 1Bil isk. Not including the modules.
