So I opened up the EVE Online forums today and was greeted by numerous threads about quitting and being fed up etc. I navigated over to an EVE News site and read an article about industry sockpuppets and dirty practices when this ad appeared.

It seems the metagame extends to the industry as whole Smile

I thought it was pretty funny

WoW does not need these ads as most people know to go back to it already.

Entropia? I played that game. It can be fun, but only if you got money. It is a gambling site nicely disguised as an MMO.

maybe they will one day

maybe WoW is worried behind the scenes because when I unsubbed and it asked for the reason I said "going to play eve instead." lol. if enough do that we could start seeing similar treatment from blizzard.

Pretty much.
People shuffle money between each-other, but the "system" constantly destroys in-game currency and seldom (if ever) generates it.
Talk about house advantage, eh?
Basically all that's still shuffled around is long-time paid for with cash upon initial creation, and there's far less of it in circulation that was ever paid for.
Yet still the main attraction point paraded around ads is the "opportunity to make real-life cash".
I suppose that's as true as for any casino.
