Player Features and Ideas Discussion

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn't see it in the commonly submitted list (at least, not how I would word it).


Anyway, my idea is thus:
Bookmarks should be an option to select under TYPES in the Overview settings. When selected, you should see it on your overview and in space, just as if you had selected a ship type, celestial, etc.

Selecting a bookmark in the GUI/Overview should allow you to interact with a bookmark as if you had right-click-menu'ed it.


This would be incredibly useful in a multitude of situations. For one, I would love to have it for combat because I often run defense fleets and it would be useful to have a warp-in (or alternatively, a safe warp-out) and be able to visually confirm it, and/or more easily select it.

Meta-gaming, there's not much of a reason we shouldn't be able to do this. It seems odd that we can't.

In-game thinking, we're flying important spaceships with super computers that can warp us all over a vast array of solar systems, and we can see remote star gates and outposts on our overview... but we can't see a point in space that we've manually set?

We can do this with modern day flight and navigation systems with HUDs... heck my GPS shows manual points on the screen. If you're telling me we can't do this in the future, well, I think you're wrong.
