The EVE Player Diagnostic

What makes the EVE player tick? This is my diagnostic observation.
As I sit and observe at the eve player I cannot help but wonder what drives them to know all of this fictional nonsense. They have no sense of morality or justice. They appear to be a pack of cross breed mixed animals, fighting just for the sake of fighting. They, at first impression, hold no loyalty or personal interest in one another. Should the come together to perform a task, it is often interrupted by what they call "real life". However I find that the "EVE Player life" and "Real Life" often intersect and often either co-exist or clash.
I have witnessed online friendships develop in both positive and negative manners. They either become real life friends and chat over teamspeak all the time or they trash talk each other over the same. Inherently things will develop, whether they want it to or not. More often or not there are a few that actually want to establish a common ground and or, a set of rules to live by. Once those individuals, who are usually in leadership positions, establish those rules the corporation either stays together or split up.

The pirate: Who knows no sense of morality or obligation towards the feelings of other humans. They feel invincible behind their keyboard and fly with reckless abandon. Greedy thoughts and chaos fill their dark minds and allow for the turmoil that effects them in real life to be acted out in a rash and volatile manner. Potentially, a pirate could have a harder real life environment and decompress by being an aggressive EVE Player portrayed as a pirate. So how definitive are the lines drawn between “real life” and “Eve Life”?

The Militant: Who’s objective in EVE is to make another faction suffer. A sycophant in their emotional response to positive feedback. Willing to strike down any who opposes his group of people, who in reward give them praise, acceptance, or money. However once again “real life” and “Eve Life” can cross to where they become one. A militant could often have very little friends, or finds it hard to make friends in real life, often turning to EVE to find that staff of acceptance.

The Liar: A sociopath who often inserts themselves into a trusting environment only to lie, cheat, steal, and cause dismay. A constant psychological health threat to all around them. Breeding both trust issues and accusation wars amongst those who reside around them. In real life they could be this way. Lying and stealing from family only to use whatever is acquired to fill self-serving wants and desired. Or potentially seeking attention. Often referred to as the black sheep.

The Miner: A lone wolf or a massive group seeking fortune, either causing the least impact as possible, or bending the area to their will. If the miner impacts the market it is only to their own self-serving benefit. Hated by most, however determination drives them to be the miner that controls their environment. That control is either by money, trade influence, or potential buying power. Those influences can be both negative and positive. Miners either have a fluid state of mind. If something or someone makes them happy they have a positive impact on those around them. If something or someone makes them mad, their influence harms those who wronged them. Then again sometimes the miners retreat and strategize. Miners, in my assessment, can be pure good, or pure evil. Generally miners real life environment is in direct link with their EVE playing.

The Freighter: A person who wants to fly massive ships and help others. On a never ending mission to accomplish delivery. In some cases massive deliveries give them a sense of accomplishment. They utilize eve to help them in real life. Sometimes the freighter needs that sense of accomplishment to help them with real life, where they do not feel accomplished. In other cases the freighter works to establish a network of connections in the EVE environment to sustain their real life needs or have other plans in mind.

The Troll: A volatile person both in real life and in Eve Life. Bent on damaging the feelings of others to satisfy their need to bully. In real life, should you meet one in person, they are often cowardly when confronted. Use caution when confronting a pack of them.

The Worm Hole: Worm hole enthusiasts often proclaim that living in a worm hole is the way to go. Then cast doubts in others minds about the way they play EVE. Worm hole players often brag and boast about their riches proclaiming that they are the best kept secret in EVE. In real life they are frequently seeking the next best thing and holding it up high on a pedestal hoping to receive praise.
