Two words: Insider Trading.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I've only ever played eve. Is every MMO full of MMO experts?

Yes, every MMO has them, EvE just takes it up to eleven.

I'm kinda tempted to think it's because they plan to screw us over.. again...

Any time CCP has been super secretive about release content, it's been because they know if they tell us we'll all go mad. I naturally assume any non-discript updates will buff new players at the expense of everyone who actually cares about the game :)

For the younglings out there, one word: Incrna. or WiS if you prefer.

Having something promised to be coming years before it is implemented only for it to be rushed in half assed and then end up being nothing anyone even wants causes MUCH MUCH butthurt and rage.

CCP would rather people rage about not knowing what is coming than over what was promised and not delivered.

CCP's mantra:

"Highsec players as a general demographic are incapable of understanding the concepts"

Because they're afraid of the answer they already know is coming...

“If you're very very stupid? How can you possibly realize you're very very stupid?

You have to be relatively intelligent to realize how stupid you really are!”

Hello there my beloved brethren and sisters,

So my question is... why so much secrecy about upcoming content and the direction of EvE? I really hate secrecy as we have to deal with it all the time out-of-pod in RL.

So much redaction in the CSM minutes. Made me a sad bear. Sad

Is because of the "Rabble Rabble Rabble?" Or is it all the "I'm Leaving EvE" threads or something? Is it because the threat of people unsubscribing can become a reality? What happened to the HTFU mentality introduced in that CCP rap song?

I'm curious... things used to be way more open. It gave me something to look forward to. Something to keep me excited about EvE and keep me here (as I get really bored now).

If CCP doesn't say anything, people complain about secrecy.

If CCP says one thing and implements it, people complain about CCP not listening to feedback.

If CCP says one thing and fixes it before implementing, people complain about not getting the original idea.

The only winning move is not to play.

Be bored or expect something pulled out of thin air by yourself, to be dissapointed later and throw tantrums. It's really that simple.

They don't want another WiS situation, where the community yells for a feature so loudly that CCP buckles down to implement it, only to result in so much backlash that the game itself is threatened.

It's much, much better from a PR perspective to keep the big projects in the background and only reveal them when they're fully out of the concept stage and in a functional alpha status.

CCP have provided full detail of every expansion long in advance and will continue to do so..

However, Apocrypha was the final expansion for Eve online so there is nothing more to discuss. Expect some more patches containing more pointless deployables and some balance tweaks though. /crystalball
