There's nothing wrong with the idea, the implementation is screwed up.

They said the same thing with the System's upgrades nerf , it was supposed to "drive conflict" as alliances fought for better systems. They didn't understand that no one fights for ratting grounds because so many other ways to make personal isk exist (like npc null missions, low sec pve, high sec pve, wormholes). Alliances fought over moons because you couldn't just get those everywhere.

They seem to be doing it again, not understanding that even a slight change to anomaly farming (which is what this ESS is pointed at) could drive even more pve players (and the pve alts of pvp players trying to supply their habits) away from that an into pve that is not as dependent on raw isk bounties (high low and null missions, perhaps exploration because these ESSs won't affect deadspace loot and overseers effects and so on). The most probable outcome of the ESS being deployed on TQ is the same as the anon nerf: exodus.

The whole thing reminds me of that scene on Archer where Dr Kreiger (honestly don't know how to spell it) gives everyone something to "help clean out their system so they can pass a drug test". But if they do that.

They wouldn't own space anymore would they? Cause there is usually someone looking to grab a bit of space for themselves.

Working from that, then they wouldn't have the status of being a nullsec empire.
