your eve-flavored but rather cookie-cutter RTS proposal.

Cookiecutter? You think my idea is uninspired? Compared to most RTS concepts it's quite original.

I see you edited out a lot of your unit and building details. There's still basebuilding, resource harvesting, building limits. Its all pretty standard stuff, for a standalone RTS. How would you integrate this with Eve? how would RTS moon activity affect eve and vice versa? Can you justify calling it a "MMORTS" ?

Oh, this is more a question of how wouldn't I integrate this with EVE.

Overseers could construct launch pads to transport materials to capsuleers, spaceports to act as stations for capsuleers, and anti-orbital artillery to attack capsuleers in near orbit. Capsuleers could construct drop pods to transport materials to overseers, asteroid colonies to act as outposts for overseers, and could bombard the moon to disrupt an overseer's base.

The moons would basically become miniature sandboxes within the larger sandbox of EVE.

I have a terrible feeling that this idea would have been much better received if I had suggested it as an extension of EVE rather than it's own game...

I have a terrible feeling that you're too attached to your idea. ;) Trust me, none of this is personal. Honestly I think your idea is way too specific for it to be paid any real credence. It also seems to have a lot of personal flavoring and touches to it that really hamper its accessibility. I recommend trying to come up with an idea you can express in a single paragraph. Something ambitious is just going to be passed up at this point because the devs are more focused in other areas and rightly so. If you take a look, most threads with dev responses are about things that are going to be added in or things that need to be fixed.

Can you honestly deny that most EVE players are against the idea of CCP developing something other than EVE?

No, but that's a much bigger decision that has never been decided by these forums and probably never will be(which was the entire point that I already covered in the parts of my post you snipped out).

Edit:It's also a very good thing that the forums don't decide that, because the forums don't represent a large portion of players who enjoy the game as much as we do or eve play more than we do. This is just one source of feedback CCP has at their disposal. When you define posts here as feedback, it makes a lot more sense as to what the devs read, respond, and take into consideration.
